I know what a mame cabinet is, don't know why you stuck an i7 in it though. overkill.

Many of the parts that went into that MAME rig were leftovers from my previous rig. I wanted to spend as little as possible.

I'm setting up my living room with a very art / museum look to it. 15 - 20 matching frames side by side around the room

What do you do about the mat border when framing your pics?

Since my camera is an APSC camera and not full frame it takes shots in 3:2 aspect ratio. I bought a cheap frame at IKEA but of course the Mat that came with it didn't fit the photo I printed. Trouble is you really can't get precut Mats for 3:2 aspect ratio pics, everything is for 35mm aspect ratio. So I look into getting a mat custom cut for the pic and they want to charge me something like $40 or $60 :(

I can get a custom mat cutting tool for like $100 but then the mat boards themselves aren't really that cheap. And framing the photo with no mat border looks ugly.

Yes but the problem I have usually is that the photos I want to print are those I like the most. And for most of these I want to keep the look and feel which means keeping most of the pixels :p Cropping out portions of the image that aren't the subject or even anywhere near the subject can change the feel of the photo a LOT. It's often the case that this "blank" space is what makes a shot as it creates the perfect counterpose to the subject and "makes" the shot.

MOST pictures I can crop to fit. Time to make your own mats.
