Ah, yes, I remember another that didn't make the cut last year -- a Le Creuset dutch oven. I just need to figure out what size. Color is easy -- cobalt blue.

We also need a new knife set but I don't think I can give that to her for Christmas.

tell her to get a bow (do not use word big) and tie it around herself

I told her one year to just make a donation in my name to some kids Christmas toy charities. She thought I was nuts at the time, but this year, we're going to adopt a family.

I think a 6 3/4 quart dutch oven is probably enough, but I'll need to go shopping with her once and lead her past them to see the sizes of the ones she points out. :D

I'd like to get her a laptop and still might, but I think that I can buy her more gifts without buying her the laptop and then let her pick her own laptop to buy later.

I'll probably look at travel books too or maybe just give her a Kindle gift card as well. She loves to read Rick Steves books and I bought her 3 last year for Christmas.

Now, as for other family members, I think I may just buy something for my youngest brother and something for my other brother's kid. Or maybe just for the kid. I'll have to think about it.

I enjoy the holidays -- mainly for the time away from work. :D I also enjoy our annual NYE party but I think we may not have one this year.

Pros for having NYE party:

-- Lots of fun
-- Lots of awesome food
-- One time of the year I really get drunk and have a great time

Cons:

-- Lots of work
-- Lots of expense
-- Guests are cheap and don't appreciate it

A con of NOT having it is that one of my wife's annoying friends might decide to have one and I'd get stuck going. :D

Seriously, my wife has some annoying (and really cheap friends). Allow me to provide a summary:

1. One brought 2 bottles of wine to NYE last year. They weren't used, so she asked if she could take the more expensive bottle home and left us with a cheap $3 wine. WTF? We provided nearly all the food and booze.

2. Another friend is the most annoying person I have ever met. Anyway, a couple years ago, she and her husband came to watch a Colts playoff game at my house. Granted, I didn't like this girl before, but she shows up dressed in a Colts jersey (Dallas Clark) and professes to be a "hardcore" Colts fan. It turns out, she knew nothing about football and only had a Dallas Clark jersey because she thought he was "cute." She kept asking stupid questions ("How many downs do they get?") the ENTIRE game and afterwards, I told my wife she was NEVER inviting them over again during football season.

Halloween party

Still wouldn't save me from getting invited to a NYE party at one of her annoying friend's houses.

In my story above, the "Colts fan" and her husband recently bought a house and had a housewarming party. I refused to go and told my wife she could go by herself. I hate that friend that much. She is the dumbest and most pretentious person I've ever met.
