Battery is only $40 and a new drive is probably $60 or so. There is zero chance I'd buy an SSD for her. The RAM limit might be the thing that pushes me to a new system for her.ICF, if you are refurbishing the laptop, you would end up wanting to add more RAM, the drive should become an SSD unless she saves tons of shit, and it needs a pricey new battery.
I think you are better off buying a new one.
