ICF, if you are refurbishing the laptop, you would end up wanting to add more RAM, the drive should become an SSD unless she saves tons of shit, and it needs a pricey new battery.

I think you are better off buying a new one.

Battery is only $40 and a new drive is probably $60 or so. There is zero chance I'd buy an SSD for her. The RAM limit might be the thing that pushes me to a new system for her.

My friend who works for HP lets me use his discount and I can save about $100 on the laptop.

I have two laptops for myself: a Dell Inspiron 9300 which is sitting unused in my closet (it is still a decent machine) and a Latitude D620 that I use for my every day laptop.

Awesome, the Bears defied the new kickoff rule. I can't believe only six teams voted against, what were they thinking?

In a couple weeks I'll be able to tell you what the Star Wars ornaments are, I know work has had them in storage for months.

Quake Live fails.

1) It uses about 640x480 resolution.
2) It can't remap the back button on the mouse.
3) It already crashed within three minutes.

I didn't know Quake III Arena had a cost to it. $20 on Steam, same as Q4.

They should sell both as a pair for $30. Would be awesome.

43 of the 57 used are shared by Windows, Program Files, Program Files x86, and Users. The remaining 14 GB are unaccounted for, I'm beginning to try to hunt them down.

...this is strange. All the other folders on C combined total no more than 2 GB. So there's nearly ten missing.
