I think $200 would get you an OCZ 120GB with the new SandForce controller. $150 would probably put you around an Intel 80GB G2. Either one is good. If you need room for your files, keep a mechanical drive in the computer, put your OS and most used or most hardware intensive games/programs onto the SSD. If I were shopping for a drive right now, I'd probably go for the Intel drive. Save the $50, and the Intel drives are proven to be excellent.

Don't buy an OCZ drive. Don't buy ANYTHING from this fucking piece of shit sorry excuse for a company for that matter.

Only get Intel or Crucial. The Crucial parts had problems earlier but have been fixed with firmware updates. There are other "good" ones but not worth mentioning here as they are way beyond anyone's means.

Intels have rebates from time to time. Best deal was the newegg $90 rebate on the 160GB G2 that brought it down to $289. Hard to believe a year ago that drive was almost $600!

There's nothing wrong with OCZ.

To be honest, I've never had problems with OCZ either and I've bought RAM from them and have two StealthXtreme power supplies in use that have been operational for years.

EDIT: One of the StealthXtreme power supplies powers my server and has done so 24/7 for the last 3.5 years.

Megamillions at $330m. Damn, that'd be nice. Leave UML, find another school if I actually want a degree, pay off all debts, and never have to work again.

And by the way, even though I am not currently fond of the work I am doing, allow me to take a moment to say:

THANK GOD I am not going to our yearly national convention next week!

I worked it 3 years in a row and it was the worst experience ever.
