Actually, I should add that I can more readily understand a business owner wanting his vehicles out front because of all the valuable stuff inside. Not always the case for cars.

This will be my last post guys. Thanks to everyone with advice, and thanks to everyone for the funny solutions.

Noooo! We want updates! Consider it payment for the advice!

Obviously it WASN'T a good area if you had to walk several blocks to get to your house after you park.

Yes - as we all know the one and only indicator of a good neighborhood is the proximity of parking to your house

If you had an HOA, they might have a rule against commercial vehicles being parked overnight. Otherwise, I'd guess you're stuck.

Why do you need a HOA? There could easily be local ordinances to take care of people keeping all their commercial vehicles in a residential area.

And sue him for booku bucks.

bookU?

Beaucoup...

That's one way to deal with it...keep parking in front of his house...let him get mad enough to hit you...then sue him for enough that YOU own the trucks...PROFIT!

It isn't, but it obviously bothers him so much that it should have been.

And it's something I wouldn't stand for.

Add him on facebook.
then post about the dickbag that keeps using all the street parking like some kind of selfish asshole for his commercial vehicles because he is too much of a cheapass to rent a place to keep them and so much a hypocrite that he wont let his own neighbors park in front of their own house

that'll learn him.

Before you start work on your amateur law degree, try being polite and just asking that he not park both his extra vehicles in front of your home so you can have a spot. I assume you don't really care if he parks one there as long as there is space for yours as well.

If he continues to be a jerk, just continue to park in front of his house, and if he gives you the "death stare", point to his vehicles in front of your house. If you have no legal recourse, then neither does he.

This is good here.

I know in some places you aren't supposed to have a vehicle parked for more than 24 hours on the road in neighborhoods. If you talk to him and he does not see your point of view, I would not even use my driveway and park all on the street to piss him off (in front of his house and yours).

There may be a zoning violation. If he is running a business out of his home and using a residential area as his makeshift business parking lot he may be violating your city zoning law.

This is the first thing I thought of also.

As far as being passive aggressive, parking your three vehicles doesn't go far enough. You need to blow about $1000 or so to be really passive aggressive - purchase a couple of vehicles on craigslist "passed inspection! (barely)!" for a few hundred bucks each, register them, then park them in front of his house.

Or, as someone suggested, have friends over. Twist on this: find friends with extra cars who can leave them behind for a couple days.

Personally, I think talking to the guy would be the best thing to try first.

ask him if he would take a look at your furnace for you, when he bends over to pull the cover off grab his hips and jack rabbit him as hard and fast as you can. see what happens from there, parking might not be an issue anymore.

I sort of did that, I took 2 spots with our cars for a 1 week. Dude seemed to get even more pissed. I want to keep the tension low because I have to live next to the guy and I don't want my stuff vandalized or place broken into.
You need to get a video camera on your spaces now. He's already told somebody he's going to mess your stuff up if you keep messing with him.
He's entitled to park whatever he wants, wherever, as long as it's legal.
As are you, you just don't intimidate him in any manner, so he's going to bow up and try to punk you out.
