Not if they're both quiet fans dude. You can have 5 panaflows be quieter than one generic case fan.

2 fans are always more noise than one fan. Of course two silent fans can be more silent than one noisy fan, but two silent fans will still be noisier than one silent fan.

and the tard spam continues....

NVs chip generates more heat because its a 500mhz part.

ATis card performs better FOR 1 REASON ALONE, 256bit ram.

NVs chip is therefore slower and louder due to more extreme cooling.

Once again i reiterate, this is the direction video cards have to go, the heatsinks have to get bigger, the fans have to get louder (or more expensive for high CFM low rpm). As clockspeeds increase, the heat has to go somewhere.

I bet if NV moved to 256bit ram now, they'd slaughter then R9800. But they wont, so what i say is only speculation.

Apples taste better than oranges.

If you're going to compare what's louder, two fans or one, at the least compare the same fans. Otherwise its a useless comparison. I can probably find an 80mm fan that's louder than a radiator fan but that doesn't mean that its the norm.

AFAIK, Chaintech's 5800 Ultra diverges from the FlowFX reference design, as does Leadtek obviously. I believe one other manufacturer does too, but I can't remember who exactly. I wonder if Gainward does, as I haven't seen a pic of their 5800 Ultra.

No big surprise. But I bet all those ATI fans who put nVidia down for the fan on their 0.13um cards are feeling dumb now that ATI is going to end up doing the same thing.

Try engaging your brain before engaging your mouth. The cards powered by Ati-chips have variety of different cooling-methods. One manufacturer uses heatpipes and passive cooling. This particular manufacturer chose to use FlowFX-wannabe. However, 98% of all cards with Ati-chip is going to use normal-cooling. In short:

- Card-manufacturers are free to use whatever cooling-method they prefer
- "Normal" cooling is more than enough for any Ati-chip, and most manufacturers stick to it
- Some manufacturers prefer more exotic methods
- This manufacturer chose to use more exotic cooling-method
- But the fact remains that normal heatsink and fan is more than enough
- And the fact remains that excluding two exceptions, all manufacturers use normal cooling.
Dude perhaps you should "Try engaging your brain before engaging your mouth" all of this was addressed in the previous 50+ posts. I have no need to rehash it with you just because you're too lazy read. And nice job on increasing your post count since you can get your thoughts together enough to combine 4 replies into one post.
