Damn, these contests seem to be dangerous to my health. Just before the military press contents, I blew out my shoulder. And yesterday, just before this deadlift contest, I blew out my hamstring. Let's hope we don't have an IQ competition in the future.

Didn't you say you always wondered what it'd be like to have a stroke?

Finally getting over a hip flexor injury. I maxed out last month at 495 so I expect to at least put up 475 again within a month.

I don't see that listed in the official rules ;)

Goes without saying :p

So whats the take on suits? It's up to the collective of ATHF to decide. I only write down the general rules and they are fair rules imo.

So what do you guys think?

I believe only Eric62 and I really wear them (and I only ever have twice) so its not really a fair advantage.

Good timing koing. Determined to get my DL to 405 in the next 6 weeks, pulled 350 for a 10# PR without much effort last Friday after only deadlifting once since Dec 10. I finally got a belt which is giving me a lot more confidence to go heavier. Still embarassingly bad since my best squat is 375.

This thread is just for fun anyways, I don't care if people wear suits. If you really wanted to "cheat" you could just throw out a number anyways, its not like we can verify it :)

I weigh 195 lbs. and deadlifted 430

Since the opening of this competition? If so, put it in the format Koing requests :)

I vote no on the suits just to keep the playing field level. It will give the crap-talker more legitimate rights that way :)

My first ever deadlift max. I've only been doing this exercise for less than a month, but I'm loving it so far. I'm also pretty sure I'm going to get bumped up in weight class here soon since I'm on GOMAD ;-)

Name: MrEgo
Bw: 83.9kg : 185lbs
Result: 142.9kg : 315lbs
Class: 85kg : 187lbs
%ofBody : 170% (315/185)

Did 1RM this morning specifically for this contest:

Name: Herb
Bw: 93.2 kg : 205.5 lbs
Result: 297.1 kg : 655 lbs
Class: 94 kg : 206.8 lbs
%ofBody : 318%

My all-time max was 785, but I tore my ACL a while back so it's not completely rehabbed yet (probably 95% right now).

Yeah... we're gonna need video to confirm this. When you start getting into those weights, it sounds like stats to act like you're a badass on the internet. I'm not saying you didn't... I am, however, saying that you should post a video of it if you want any credibility.

The USAPL American record for that weight class is 805 in gear, 685 raw. WABDL is 800 national/world record (geared). USPF is 901 (Ed Coan).

Basically, its doable, but he'd have to be damn good - and in a suit.
