How would that work? reps with a certain weight? Max weight for 1? What hand-placement rule?

I vote you just have a competition to see who can make up the most bullshit numbers while being an obvious troll.

I was thinking about this when I was in the gym, then I realized I don't care it's not like this is costing me any money and doesn't mean shit to anyone outside of the Internet. And even to the select few that participate what they think of what I'm doing isn't all that important to me (no offense guys) I lift because I like to, and having something to compare myself to helps. Even if some of the numbers are skewed I'm still able to get a half assed average.

Also, I would not like to do chin-ups, weighted or otherwise, for the next comp. Bench press might be a fun one tho...

We already had a press competition though. We need a pull. :) I'm obviously prejudiced though considering my shoulder blows for bench.

Deadlift was kinda a pull. I mean, its not, but then again, it kinda is.

Quit making your semi-sense! :p Technically, squat is a push then and that would put the competitions at.

Push: squat, overhead press
Pull: deadlift

We still need to even it out :p Adding another push would skew the results! Haha. Or we could just make an interesting event like two-handed 50m farmer walk for max total DB weight. That'd be kinda fun, but the problem would be getting weights to an appropriate space that one can walk 50m.

haha...making this a strongman competition! Nice!

Most strongman farmers comps do a set weight (varies by weight group) for either distance or time.

Sorry dude, probably just you!:p

I'm in favor of keeping it "normal" with bench press or some form of pull/chin up. It's more accessible to everyone.

This talk of exotic equipment from former Eastern Block countries creeps me out. I'm headed for my bunker.

I'm not playing against eric62 unless there's a rule that he only gets to use 3 limbs.

Hm, max distance would be hard for me because I don't have access to heavy weights outside the gym. Unless I want to walk back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, I'd prefer to keep the weight heavy :) The decision goes to the masses though.

If the weight is sufficiently heavy "max distance" doesn't have to be a mile. It can be heavy enough that you only make it 30 yards.....

I'd be down for a farmers walk competition, that'd be fun.

Weighted dips would be really cool as well, what about OHP?

ughhh, i missed the competition.

i jsut now got my good lift, 405x2 at 155lbs BW soaking wet. the first rep went up like butter, 415/20 would have been attainable. i love leaning out and getting stronger.

i would have won, damnit! :p

So what have you guys decided?

weighted chin up for a 1RM? Start from a dead hang and chin over the bar?

+1 for weighted chin up. Should video be required for anything outlandish?

Videos are always good to watch mate any weight.

So Chin ups, (palms facing you) for a 1RM from a 'dead hang'.

I'll post this mofo up!
