I want to take Wednesday off on account of it being my birthday. I kind of like taking my birthday off... makes me feel like it's a holiday... Aikouka Day. 😀 Although, now people are going to think I took it off to play WoW. 🙁
 
pretty sure 5.0 patch is hitting today, as when i fired up the launcher i started reconfiging stuff and started a DL for a 8GB patch

Yes it is.

They announced that a while ago that it would be today.

Cant wait to see how unbalanced the new talents are when you cant hit max level yet.
 
I had to run through a 20 minute optimization this morning :/

servers are down anyways, so I guess it didn't matter, but still kind of annoying.

That's the one nice thing about being on a SSD... optimizations are significantly faster! I changed from an older Intel X25-M to a Corsair M4, so I'll get to see if it's even faster now (it should be).
 
I keep wanting to make the jump back into SSD's, but it's expensive when you need a large drive and RAID1.

after my old SSD died, I went back to SATA in a RAID1 (because that drive dying really crippled me... didn't lose any vital data, but I lost days of work as I waited for new drives to get delivered and installed/reconfigured the OS)

i have a samsung 830, that optimization only took ~5 min before the DL started this morning, not exactly sure what it was doing
 
Have not played in awhile, patched up today. Any patch notes on what they put in today? At work so don't have access to look around to much.
 
Ya they put today's date out like a month ago.

I've got one comp with a boot ssd and another with boot and data, have had the optimize thing happen before on the beta and while the time estimate it gives is fairly long, took me just a fraction of them time.

Will be nice getting those first year(s) FOS achievements from my alliance char set ported over.

Just thought about this, I've got the holiday achievement set done on 2 chars, wonder if I'll be getting the mount on other ones.

I've been off last 2 expansions (BC would have been a waste as you couldn't play for 2-3 days). Wrath was unscheduled as I ended up doing some medical leave and cat I was near my leave limit back when we could carry over only a week. Not going to this time though.
 
Ya i am assuming it will go live at 3 am pst time since thats what cata did. I am est time, but i ordered my CE from Amazon grrr, so i probably won't have my key till mid day tues. So i might wait and take off wed/thur then.

Not only that but people are running around in soft crit/haste with hard hit/expertise cap gear.

This time before an expansion is always funny. Everyone will be OP, some more than others. 😛

There have been some really good deals lately, which is nice. I picked up a Samsung 128GB 830 SSD for only $90, and it's a pretty good drive overall. OCZ's Vertex 4 has a higher speed overall, but some people have a hard time trusting OCZ. 😛 Personally, I split my OS and Apps apart from my games, and I only put a few games on the gaming SSD. The rest go on a 2TB HDD.

anyone know if the PvP gear rebalancing applies to current gear?

I'm curious if my ilevel 403 PvP epics will suddenly start being equal/better than blues for 5-mans/leveling.

I swear, some people find the smallest things to gripe about. You can't even play so what's the big deal if there's a 20 minute optimization?

I love reading all of the nerd rage posts from people when Blizzard has their servers down all day on patch days.

I believe Pokemon is in the game now. Everything is accessible except we are still locked to 85, can't create a Panda, can't create a Monk and cannot go to Pandaria. To note, you will be able to create a Panda on 9/25 regardless of whether you get the expansion (this also includes Draenei, Blood Elves, Worgen and Goblins). The other three do require the expansion.

What rebalancing? Didn't they just remove resilience but add in PVP Power?
 
The Battle of Theramore, the first of many Scenarios coming to World of Warcraft, is a story-changing event that will be available to level-85 characters for one week only -- the week leading up to the launch of Mists of Pandaria on September 25.

For the duration of the week of September 18-24, level-85 characters will be able to queue up for and participate in the Alliance and Horde versions of this new Scenario with two friends. (Please note: if friends are not available to you at the time, two will be provided. Batteries not included. Subject to change. Void where prohibited.)

After the lifting of the mists, the Battle of Theramore will join all other Scenarios as level-90-only content, and everyone -- including players who missed it at level 85 -- will be able to play through the event. Upon completing the Scenario for the first time, players will see the aftermath of the battle whenever visiting Theramore in Dustwallow Marsh. Theramore will eventually be changed permanently to its post-battle state in a future patch, sometime after the launch of Mists of Pandaria, whether or not players have completed the Scenario.
