42 - 80 in 2 weeks on my mage, I feel accomplished.

1-85 in 3 days on a hunter, I feel like a loser :'(

Enjoy Cata, I think grind wise - it feels better than anything before it. I can't stand vanilla anymore (even with the revamp), TBC has ALWAYS been boring to me, and WOTLK is fun at first but then that wears off and it takes so much longer than TBC for some goddamn reason, but Cata zones...they feel just right. Not too long, maybe because there is a sort of difficulty change (even if you have heirlooms) which makes the first 2 or so levels fun while you gear up.

this will be my 5th 85 if I make it... Cat is actually the hardest part of leveling for me, just because it's so linear and exactly the same on every character (Northrend, otoh, flies by because I can mix up which zones/quest chains I do).

(among many other thing), Cat really could have used a second 83-85 zone as an alternative to Uldum -> Twilight Highlands (and dear god, I can't believe the Therazane enchants aren't BoA yet... the thought of having to do that quest chain + daily grind again is enough to keep me out of raids)

Yeah... I started with 11 80s going into Cataclysm, and I've only leveled... 10 to 85 according to my armory app. I still have my Hunter, 2nd Druid (leveled him to 80 post Cata) and 2nd Paladin (at 71) to get to 85.

I've never done anything more than a handful of quests in that zone on any of my toons.

I usually do it until I get the seahorse mount. On a few characters, I had to go up to the quartermaster. :(

Yeah, that's as far as I got. At least on toons where I wanted/needed something from the quartermaster.

Yes. Everything in the old world has been updated with Cataclysm, which means it includes the end of Wrath's story line.

A chaos orb is an item used in crafting epics. I can't remember what levels, but I know Dragon Soul drops its own special item.

835 gold isn't a lot, but it's not bad at all. To give you an idea, I have around 200,000 gold.

I'd say 835 gold is a pretty good amount for leveling... it's probably enough to keep you in up-to-date BoE's through BC plus riding training.

I've been impressed at how much money my mage has made... I haven't taken any gold from my mains while leveling this mage (although, I did give myself bags, BoA's, and occasional material assistance to power-level engineering). after hitting 60 and training in flying mounts (150% speed), I was down to 5 gold D:

but now at 83, I'm up to about 5,000 and change, without playing the AH much at all outside of selling BoE's that I find (the costliest of which still only sold for about 200g)... likely going to train in 280% speed flying once I hit exalted with Stormwind to save a few hundred gold.

Try leveling enchanting brand new. I was down to 40 SILVER on my mage at one point because I hate doing dailys (except the valor dungeons/LFR)

Finally beat Heroic Deathwing last night. As everyone says, the fight is definitely a hell of a lot easier than Spine. We also had both the heroic and the normal mount drop at the same time... crazy!

This shit is stupid. Til this day Blizzard does not address the ninja loot problem.

thats a pretty long standing position.

I know. Ive been playing since 2005 (damn I just realized that's a long time) and they havent addressed the ninja loot issue. ML is pretty much always when it comes to pugs and there are always the base rules of out of 1000 (or 100). Sometimes I feel like they keep it that way so people will continue playing anyways and pay the sub to get the item later on.

Damn, and I was proud of my 20k. I just can never see to get up above 20k. I hate farming and playing the AH.

I don't do either of those. I just don't spend my money. :p I have a ton of characters of each profession, which means that I usually never have to pay someone to do something for me.

A blue update on account mounts, looks like they are now making some of the previously restricted purchased or crafted mounts eligible for account wide status so that now only pvp and class mounts are restricted to earned character.

I read that, but I don't recall hearing them removing the restriction on crafting-based mounts... did they do that prior to this announcement?

I thought that craft-based mounts are "available" but require the associated crafting skill to actually use (eg: your tailor/enchanter won't be able to summon an engineering mount, but if you have 2 engineers, you'd only have to make said mount once)

That makes sense since the crafting profession is still tied to the spell. I leveled tailoring on my Shaman prior to leveling Engineering (when the Hyperspeed Accelerators were awesome) just to get the mounts. I can't actually use them, but they still count toward my total.

Oh, and that makes me assume that the total mount count will be account-wide now? That ought to make things easier since I can get the other tailoring mounts to count as well as two of the class mounts. My assumption is that even though the class mounts aren't account-wide, my Paladin and Warlock will each have the two additional mounts. So my mount count should always be <account wide mounts> + 2.

paladins and warlocks have 2 unique mounts each, don't they? or did they change at some point?

I thought they had the level 40 60% speed mount, and then the level 60 100% speed mount.

They do, though its more a lv 20 60% and lv 40 100% mount speeds.

Yeah.

I'm just musing over how the account-wide mounts will count toward the mount achievement. The majority of mounts will be account-wide, but there are four that I have that will not. Will I get all four counted toward my total or only two? To use actual numbers, if my other characters have 80 mounts, my Paladin and Warlock will both have 82. That would make 82 my mount count even though I have access to 84 all together.

By crafting I mainly meant the cycle and alch one, but would not be surprised if the tailor one did also but you could only ride if you had the crafting spec. Will need too check the post again. To see if they did indeed mention those.
