So, I reactivate my account. Try to get into my old guild, but they get a message that I'm already in a guild... Put in a ticket like 4 days ago and it still hasn't been resolved >.<

Have you done the “Delete WTF and Interface folders” fix that they will likely tell you to try first?

Hey guys I haven't played in awhile. In fact yesterday was the first time I logged in and honestly with all the changes it's a bit overwhelming. Assuming I find a spec for whichever of my 80s I decide to play, is there any kind of single player goodness that came along with this new patch? A Sunwell type zone for example?

You mean dailies?

The one's I'd compare most to those are the ToC dailies all the way north in Icecrown.

How long has it been since you’ve played?

The most recent content patch brought in Ruby Sanctum, a 10 man raiding instance under Wormrest temple, but no additional single player content. Prior to that you would be going back to the content added in the Tournament grounds.

If you haven’t done any of the Tournament grounds quests there are quite a number of repeatable dailies available. The Tournament quests are indeed comparable to the what Blizzard did with the Isle of quel'danas content prior to the WotLK release.

One major difference is that there is sort of a two tier set up where you need to become champion with all your factions in order to unlock other quests. Unlocking those quests however will stop you from doing the previous tier of quests so it’s sort of a wash there.

I run a set of 6 or 7 quests up in the tournament for the gold as I can do them all in 30 minutes and make a fair amount of doing them.

I don’t get the feeling that the tournament quests are as heavily run as the Isle quests were back in the day, but that could vary depending on the server.

For gold these quest chains are pretty nice, but if you are looking to upgrade gear, I suggest that you run random heroics with the group finder tool Blizzard implemented a while back.

video card issues - anytime I'm at the user/password screen, the fan runs ridiculously loud and fast. Same thing with the character select screen. If I leave it on these screens for over a minute, the entire PC shuts down. If I login and begin playing, the fan slows a bit, but still louder than web browsing, and I can play just fine for hours.

ATI 4850... any ideas? It's been like this since I can remember, through many ATI drivers over the many months.

This sounds like the same problem people were having with SC2 on the menus and how the game did not limit the framerates. Open up your Catalyst Control Center and check the activity % while on a menu.

That's a game issue - wouldn't most everyone have the same problem then?

CCC doesn't load for me... it just hourglasses for a brief moment when I click the starter batch/exe for it then regular cursor again and nothing actually loads. Had this problem before but a new CCC version worked... and now the latest doesn't load again.

You can try running FRAPS to see the framerate of your screens. I can do the same later today.

It could be a hardware problem, but at first it sounds like the SC2 problem.

Im in the same boat as you. I logged on last night for the first time since May of 09. It's definently going to take me a bit to get used to all these changes.

So I had a +81 enchant on my staff before the patch and I just noticed that it's not there anymore. Sent a ticket in and the GM said they have no way of telling whether I had the enchant or not.

Sucks

Yup happened to a lot of people. I heard that Mongoose enchant was missing from most people.

There were two spirit healers, but I thought the first one looked a bit better overall. I was actually pretty surprised to not see her make the finals... it was a good costume. But Jaina  ... now I see why Kael'thas went all emo over her :p.

Oops, just read my post again and realized it was not quite as descriptive as it should have been. I stopped playing probably 6 months ago so I've been overly exposed to the Argent Tourney content. Oh well, was really hoping for another zone a la Argent Tourney or Sunwell for some new single player content but I guess I will just continue to level the Warrior or hold off another month or two for the xpac.

Azeroth isn't the only landscape that's changing. In preparation for the upcoming launch of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, we'll soon be releasing our new World of Warcraft community site which will provide players with a host of new features including blog posts, a robust game guide, and brand-new forums! If you want an idea of how this new site will look and operate, head on over to our StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty community site (http://us.battle.net/sc2/en/).

We currently plan to launch a live preview of the new World of Warcraft community site in early November, and will begin to transition over to the new forum system at that time. To make this transition as smooth as possible, we want to provide a tentative timeline for how we'll be phasing posting access from these forums (the ones on which you're currently posting) to the new forums.

For approximately two weeks after the preview site is released, both sets of forums will be open for posting. The requirements for posting on the new forums will be the same as posting here: you will need an active World of Warcraft account that's in good standing and a compatible browser.

Following the initial testing phase of the new community site, all forums located at http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com will be marked as Read Only. While you will still be able to access these forums, you will no longer be able to create new posts or edit existing ones.

(The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm beta forums will remain available for posting until further notice. In order to post on the beta forums, you will need to possess a World of Warcraft: Cataclysm beta account.)

The current forum system will be completely removed sometime next month to complete the transition to the new community site. All forum communication at that time, excluding that conducted on the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm beta forums, will move to the new forums.

As we get closer to the release of the new community site, we'll be sure to provide you with more information. In the meantime, we're making preparations to ensure that important announcements posted by Blizzard Entertainment will be available in the new forums, and we encourage you to do the same. If there are any beloved discussions or guides that you want to take with to you, be sure to start saving them now!

UGH!!!!

Still NOTHING about the Northern Spice bug…..

I do a lot of prep for my guild on potions and buff foods and not being able to buy Northern Spices is a PITA. I have also heard a reported Bug that the daily cooking quests in Dal says it’s giving you the award but it never shows up in your currency. I haven’t tested that bug myself but several people have reported it on the Bug forum.

The Northern Spice Bug is listed as a “Known Bug” on the Blizzard site and has been since 4.0.1 went live.

If you haven’t encountered it, what happens is when you go to buy the spices with the cooking awards you get the following error “Internal Bag Error”

Apparently this is because the system can’t handle buying a stack of items with currency other than gold. From what I read, this bug is tied to the change from Emblems to the points system.

I still have about 125 Northern spices in my bank but my guild is a hungry bunch and I could run through those in no time.

Ah well hopefully Blizzard gets it fix in the next patch and that patch is put in BEFORE Cata drops in December.

so i would love nothing other than to complain about how it costs 25 bucks to move a single toon to another server. i feel i have no right as i have now moved 4 characters, but i am still going to complain a little :p i really really wish that it did not cost me 100 bucks to move my 4 toons to the server i'm no now. yes, it's my choice to do so but honestly i have spent a ton of money with blizzard in the past 6.5 years that i've been playing. free character moves are awesome, but in order to play on the server with my friends that recently started playing, it cost me too much money to do so!! obviously i did it and it didn't bother me so much that i wasn't willing to do it. it just seems like it would be a nice gesture to let us do so for less than 25 bucks a toon.

It'd be nice if it was only $25 for the first character and maybe $5 per after that. They say it's supposed to be a deterrent against people just moving, but as it stands, it's just exorbitant to anyone that has more than a few characters.

I remember when I moved to Alleria... it cost me $250 :\. Someone tells me, "you should go Horde and come to my server!". I just laugh and say, "Yeah, it's not worth $600, sorry!" Changing factions + server transfer = $55 :\.
