Ummm... Hooray for 3 out of 4 of my 80's getting nerf'd? Hooray for DD's being nerf'd so the nerfs to Tanks shouldn't be felt as much as they would be otherwise?? I thought Bonus Threat had already been removed?

...and why did they make Engineering worse than it already is?


Though in all fairness: It's not like adjustments were not expected.
 
Engineering was going to be OP if they retained how it was working in 4.0.1 since you could get the most amount of stats gain and other profession combinations could not obtain the same abilities.

Warlocks look like they got an overall 12% damage balance.

how was it working in 4.01 and how will it be going forward. i was always confused by what happened

The way I'm reading it - Engineering "Tinkers" will no longer provide base stats (ex - no more Stamina from the Mind Control Cap), but they will now stack with regular enchants.

So as a Tank: You'd lose the 40 STA from the Mind Control Cap, but instead would be able to use both the normal tanking head enchant and still be able to add Mind Control to it.

I'm ok with bonus stats dropping, so long as I can retain the fun stuff like rocket on gloves or nitro boost, It's all good with me.

Yah - My DK Tank is a little annoyed at losing a bit of Stam from the Head tinker, but more than happy to pick up the Rocket Boots as compensation.
 
Haven't tanked since the 4.0 changes and with what seems yet another round of nerfs, not even going to try until all the changes have been worked out after majority already at 85.

Ret was fun in wrath, even in mediocre gear. At this point why not just remove that talent tree.

Ghostcrawler may hate melee, but he loves fuking warlocks even more.after another round of cross the board nerfs, including yet another fear nerf.

And while nice riding my tiger, guess tonight will be last chance to get the raptor.


The event has been rather boring, good only if you have a fresh 80 that could use some cheap epics. Did the achievement on about half my chars, if it's still around after tomorrow may try to finish it up but otherwise it has been forgetable (was mention by blizz in one thread of massive anti-zombie feedback from last time so don't expect any more meaningful world events; can't wait for the QQ storm first time deathy goes and nukes a bunch of newbs)
 
Lupi, i wouldn't have hated the event as much as i did it the fucking mailboxes didn't vanish when it was happening, EVERY single time i try to get on my bank alt to collect mail i cant because the boxes have vanished

It's because the portals are illusions. Deathwing mailed the elementals instead. ^_^

agree, i went to silvermoon to use the Ah on a different toon and went AFK at the mailbox for 5 min and was ganked by alliance,

yesterday was a very annoying day
 
Question for the prot paladins. I just hit 80 over the weekend and have started to tank heroics. I was told with 3/3 in Sanctuary I am already crit immune so I don't have to worry about the defense cap. What other things so I need to pay attention to before I move into raiding? Hit? Dodge? Perry?
 
From what I understand (My prot is my ten man character) You want to hit the hit and expertise cap (think it's 8% hit and 16 expertise with the glyph to get it to 26)

Then we want to keep our dodge and parry around 21% and reforge to mastery till we get the 102 avoidance in raid.

I can't get there self buffed with heroic 10 gear.
 
Hmmm now I have some interesting race changes that I might make... mostly getting rid of all of my Night Elves and changing my Hunter to... probably a Dwarf, my Rogue to a Gnome and my Priest to a Human (maybe). I'd prefer a Human Hunter, but their racials don't do anything for Hunters... although, Dwarves only gain +crit to guns, so I'd be screwed if Blizzard went heavy crossbow/bow again.

Actually, I just took a peek at racials again and the new class combinations and it seems the best race for my Hunter would be Worgen since they get a base +1% crit rather than having to worry about equipping a specific ranged weapon (Dwarves only get +1% crit with guns).

Swipe (Cat Form) can now be used even if the druid does not have a primary target selected.
Hmm this is an interesting change. I wonder if it will affect Rogue vs Kitty PVP dynamics since it will allow you to use the ability to attempt to hit a stealthed rogue while they're around you. Before you would've had to use a Balance AoE to do such a thing.

Deadly Poison base damage and attack power coefficient have been increased by 30%.
Hmm maybe this will make Deadly Poison good for something more than proc'ing Instant Poison 😛. It only did around 10% of your damage, which isn't paltry, but considering Instant Poison did around 30%+!

Since you're not really geared, I'd focus more on Stamina than a lot of other stats. Moonzi mentioned the hit cap and expertise cap, although they don't come into play as much until you start raiding. I wouldn't ignore them, but they're not as important for heroics. Given the recent nerf to Protadin mastery and the change to Holy Shield, it will not be possible to hit the old uncrushable number.

I ended up keeping my Parry and Dodge to around 21% and reforged to Mastery, but I did that before Mastery got nerfed, so I'd have to do some digging to find out if it's still as worthwhile.

looks like all hell does break loose tomorrow..

you know I just think there should be something else.. like a movie or something to account for the destruction and rebuilding of Org..
to suddenly log off 1 night and then patch and wake up and everything has happened..
leaves alot to be desired on something of this scale..

I mean Org is completely rebuilt in it's new style over night?

I'm excited but man.. thats kinda a jump even for my imagination.
 
i highly suggest logging out in an area thats NOT gonna see a lot of change like DAL or Shat, if you leave your char in Org you are just asking for issues
 
I'm sure this comment has been made a thousand times before, but why are we still judging changes as variations of Buffs and Nerfs. To make an arguement for either requires intimate knowledge of what is intended in the first place. What you call a nerf can also be considered a downward adjustment towards what the developers consider appropriate based on its intended use/purpose. At the end of the day, we should all just worry about how the changes translate to actual gameplay when balanced against all the other changes being made at the same time, and not how it looks on paper. Most changes are often to made in conjuntion with other changes, so we gotta look at the big picture, and as we all know the "big picture" has changed quite a bit in cata.

...except for rogues...they must all die... 😀
