Also showed UT2k7, and Huxly (from Webzen..their MMOFPS offering), and a couple of other titles.

Another MMOFPS?! after that abortion of an FPS sony released i was serioulsy turned off by the idea, but i cant seem to NOT get excited that someone might do it right one day.

To all the people who say im talking out of my ass:

Battlefield 2

1600x1200 4xAA

GTX: 53.4
Ultra SLI: 53.3

2048 doesnt matter, its unplayable on both
----------------------------------------------

Doom 3 1600x1200 4xAA

GTX: 54.2
Ultra SLI: 75.4

Again, 2048 is unplayable
------------------------------------------------

Eve Online

CPU limited.
------------------------------------------------

Everquest II 1600x1200 4xAA

GTX: 21.5
Ultra SLI: 24.8

Worth noting: X850XT beats both
-------------------------------------------------

Guild wars, SLI not tested

--------------------------------------------------

Half life 2 2048x1536 4xAA

GTX: 69.3
Ultra SLI: 71.7

---------------------------------------------------

Splinter Cell CT 1600x1200 4xAA

GTX: 56.5
Ultra SLI: 53.7

---------------------------------------------------

Kotor II

GTX: 52
Ultra SLI: 40.3

Worth noting: While Ultra SLI seems to not benefit at all from SLI (its 0.1fps slower than the single ultra) GTX SLI garners a 25% increase. Something goofy is going on with this bench.

---------------------------------------------------

UT2004 1600x1200 4xAA

GTX: 73.9
Ultra SLI: 75.3

---------------------------------------------------

Wolfenstein enemy territory 1600x1200 4xAA

GTX: 98.5
Ultra SLI: 94.2

Worth noting: GTX SLI was below Ultra SLI, drivers need to mature.

---------------------------------------------------

Needless to say the results are close, those who have Ultra SLI now have no reason to upgrade to a single GTX.

GTX SLI however, is the highest settings your display can push in every game available. You cant lose.

 Exactly.

Except that

-- the Ultra SLi is not guaranteed to show improvements in all games (though I get the feeling many, if not all, upcoming and new games will) while the GTX will be fast in all.
-- the GTX is single slot, making it cooler, quieter, and drawing less power than the Ultra SLi.

So, while I could easily "even-trade" my GT SLi for the GTX, I don't think it's worth it for me. At a $400 price point for the GTX, I'd most likely do it and pocket the extra $200 after selling my GTs.

That still doesnt explain why you are a full 1k higher on 05 but on par with the 03 score. Either you have a much better driver or it was overclocked.

When everone is getting a different result than you are, something else is at play. There is no reason why your card should be scoring higher unless its A) clocked higher or B) different driver.

Looking forward to those "real scores" from you that show how far off the Inquirer was :)

^^

K Ronin, time to put up or shut up.

This was a very good launch, super nice card which is already available (at somewhat inflated prices). Less power, heat and much quieter. Ronin was proved wrong and Rollo was wrong about gt sli being equal to next gen (not even as good an IQ). I guess Nividia makes bad pr people, but nice cards.

LOL- you'll have to forgive me for not being able to see the future. In any case, 6800GT SLI provides much closer to 7800GTX performance/experience than anything that was available at the time, so it's not like I was totally wrong.
