So is this 1gb limit for your whole service like playing quake3 online and downloading music and downloading files? Or just for newsgroups?

THE 1GB LIMIT ONLY APPLIES TO NEWGROUPS

If you do not use newsgroups, this does not effect you. Pass go and collect $200.

Knology has no limit or cap. Downloading from newsgroups at 1 mbit is fun :D

Yeah, I'll bet that is. Probably same or better than @Home a couple years ago.

What is the retention and completeness like? I'm real interested in how complete files are ordinarily. I'm also assuming it's just one server (since that prob. maxes your d/l bandwidth), or are there multiple servers? Also, from the SuperNews page, it seems they have a lot of groups...more than some pay services I've used. Do you find this to be true?

Okay, I will. Never start a sentance with "and." Saying "...reading bullsh|t posts by you..." is passive. Make it active by saying "Reading your bullsh|t posts..." which will be more acceptable and not so clumsy to read.

These three dots ("...") are known as an ellipsis (pronounced ee-lip-sis).

Are you still upset that Greg called the cops on you last week on his way to work?

I hope Comcast is going to raise the fee soon because I really appreciate them decreasing the quality of the service. In the mean time I will go hug and kiss a poisonous snake.

netnews.comcast.net still work at at the moment,
go download'em all before it's too late.

What I want to know for sure is if that 1GB limit only applies to comcast customers before the merge, or if it applies to both people before the merge and the ATTBI customers that they sucked in. Unlimited bandwidth with attbi was great, I'd hate to see it go.

This is a non-issue for me since I don't use any of these services. I have Optimum Online! But, in regards to what you said above, if Comcast is buying ATTBI then I would have to assume that ATTBI would be affected by this bandwidth limit.

if it only applies to usenet, it doesn't really affect me.
i don't use usenet to download stuff anyway.
they better not limit how i upload and download stuff outside of usenet; otherwise, there is an alternative call DSL.

right now there is no plan to cap internet surfing, just usenet/newsgroups.

If you don't like it, get a different ISP. Problem solved.
Great idea! I think I'll have to give AOL a call. Comcast (formerly ATT, which was formerly @home in our area) is the only game in town unfortunately.
