AT&T cable to Comcast.. now 1GB bandwidth limit per MONTH!? WTF?

If you want more then 1gb a month they will refer you to purchase a giganews account.

I also had unlimited. 4+ GB a day. I am passing 300M on comcast now. lets see what happens.

It appears to be just for newsgroups. I fired up my reader this AM to check it out after "the big change" went through. Be prepared for some groups not to be available, btw.
Yaknow, I'm really missing TCI and @Home right about now....

Ok, so this is just with NNTP? Not downloads in general?

Whew.... I was goin to sh!t.. I don't really do much heavy downloading, and according to DU Meter I've downloaded 38.59gb since 11/16/02..

which averages to 5.15gb/month...

I just switched my news server about 20 minutes ago. (right before I posted that message) because netnews.attbi.com was non-responsive. I am gonna see what happens when I pass 1 gig.

as far as I am concerned, I get unlimited downloads because I am me. ATT 1/2'ed the speed of @home, and raised prices. Comcast f's with the news servers & raised prices? I don't think so.
