It'd be a lot nicer if vBulletin would implement a LIKE button so I could save my fingers from all this typing.
Nohr - Multiple nice shots. :)

Thanks Mike. That would be a welcome feature but I'll always take a comment over a like!

You've posted some nice photos yourself recently, I especially like the birds. I like it when I'm able to get a nice bird photo but they're very uncooperative. :p

Beautiful shots all of them Nohr, mashing the invisible super-like button!

Especially the gecko, great captures. I was a bit surprised to see it was with a rebel and kit lens (at least, I think it's the kit lens? 18-55), so nice and sharp, colours are excellent and the bokeh too. Tasty crispy goodness. nicely done!

Super-thanks! :D

I use an 18-55mm kit lens but it's the newer STM version which I don't think was originally available with the T4i/650D (I bought the body only). It usually stays on my camera unless I need my 55-250mm or nifty fifty. Some day I hope to have a wide prime lens to play with.

Lightroom plays a big part in how my photos turn out, maybe too much some times.

Ah. When you see how expensive so many lenses are, it's great to see such clean sharp images coming out of a kit lens like that. Now if only there was an affordable f/1.8 16-85ish!

Same here about Lightroom. LR is fantastic when working with RAW files. If you can get the look you want without ruining the capture, I'm all for it. One thing that I'm sometimes struggling with is getting the right skin tones, when not taking any measures to control the light. In some cases I've found changing to black and white makes the shot, other times sufficient LR adjustments can save it, but you can probably tell that these had to be touched up quite a bit, and it's still a bit lacking IMO

Wasn't happy with what I could recover out of the blown out sky and rest of the colors for this one, so black and white seemed to work better:

I still love the shots, but I feel like I could be doing better. And this one, I couldn't quite get the color I wanted, so i felt like 'less is more' worked better. Not black and white, but still less color than I usually opt for. I feel like the symmetry created by the shadow draws more attention this way:

Out in a new birding haunt and I ran into a couple of falconers; so, I had an opportunity to get up close to a couple of birds.
This is a Lanner Falcon, which I was told came from Africa.

Thanks - it was totally cheating. I've spent hundreds of hours last year chasing birds of prey in the wild. There's just no chance for someone like me with me average gear to get tack sharp shots. Having the falconer holding the bird, or having the bird on a perch gives these kind of results.

Awesome shots, especially love that second one, great expression captured. And honestly, as an amateur of photography I wouldn't call it cheating. You do whatever you need to do to get the capture you want, before and after taking the shot! Whether or not you've achieved the end result you hoped for is what matters.

Do you have a blog or a site you subscribe to where you keep a display of your work?

either way, exceptional pictures. Are these SOOC? or did you do any PP on them?

I can't remember the last time I've posted SOOC... lol. I shoot RAW on all my bodies, so I'm always doing something.

On the bird photos, I lifted the shadows about +25 and put the sharpening from +25 to +45 and added +5 contrast and +5 saturation.

Thanks for the compliments. It still feels like cheating.... LOL.

I'm really super random where I post - I have stuff on my own website, but I rarely update it. I post stuff on flickr, but it's not always my best.

Honestly, I've probably posted more stuff on this thread than any of my other options.
