Completely f*ckered the exposure on a series of White-Tailed-Kites fighting mid-air - this is the best I could do to pull it out.

^^ 18-55mm VR at 55mm f/6.3, ISO 400, 1/200 shutter. Found it dangling in front of a light while I was wandering around the old port tonight, couldn't resist. Was pretty hard to get though, ah heck kept blowing around in the wind. There was also some cool boats and stuff.

^^ 18-55mm VR at 18mm f/5.6, ISO 200 @ 20 seconds. Was lucky that the old port was mostly deserted, and that I found the perfect ledge to shoot this from. Fun fact, the "Daniel McAllister" tugboat is the largest preserved tug in Canada and second-oldest preserved ocean-going tug in the world. Built in 1907, the tug has changed name and ownership a few times until finally being acquired outright by the Old Port of Montreal Corporation.

^^ 11-16mm Tokina shot at 16mm f/6.3, ISO 100 @ 13 seconds. No tripod, and could not get quite the angle I wanted given the available places to set down the camera, so I cropped quite a bit. Still fairly happy with the result though.

Snapped this last week while fishing Jewel Lake, Idaho. It's a bit late in the season here with the water getting cold, but still caught some nice rainbow trout and a couple of perch.

Was wandering around aimlessly last night when I found this building, and was kicking myself cause I only had my cell phone. So I went back tonight to see what I could capture with my camera. Turns out it's the town hall for one of the nicer areas that plebs like me can't afford to live in. hahaha

thought it looked really cool and kinda creepy, especially nice lit up at night.

Nice shot. Wish i had buildings like that where I live. Here it's just "normal" houses and apartments. Though i guess i'm just a pleb too! :D
Though I'm not normally a fan of excessive HDR, i think a light touch on this one would look nice to bring out the red clouds in the back.

What awesome pictures! zCypher, you keep invoking 'luck', but your pictures are consistently good, so I guess it's your diligence - not luck - that's paying off!

I love water pictures when the water is actually doing something. Paladin's pic above has such an exquisite reflection, and the ripples because of the wind blown down by the eagle - lovely!

I was in London the other week for vacation. Lots of pictures and just starting to sort through them.

I didn't have a tripod, but there were a few flat surfaces to hold my camera so I could grab some night shots.

Also found a Golden Eagle perched on a power tower... fairly rare in the area.

Love the dog shots! xD

Didn't have my camera with me, but this caught my eye on my way home the other night.

Could be worse, for a phone pic I suppose. Shot with my OnePlus One (13mp I think, and no OIS) and touched up in Snapseed. The EXIF data shows this capture at f/2.0 3.8mm ISO 5285 with 1/17 shutter. I'm honestly not displeased given the outcome at those settings from such a tiny sensor.

Excellent Andromeda, I really like the dust lane detail. How many exposures did you stack and how long were they?

I used my D610 and 85mm f/1.8

85mm
f/1.8
4 seconds (actually a bit too long - I should have been @ 3 seconds = 500/85*1.5=500/128 = 3.9 seconds )
ISO 3200
50 shots
10 dark

I was shooting at 85' ... damn near straight up !

Hey Mike! Please provide some minimal comment/description of your pics! What rock formation was that ?

And is that girl actually walking on water ? :)

1. Death Valley Natural Arch
2. The girl is walking in Badwater, the lowest point in the north american continent, -282 ft below sea level. As you walk out into the basin, it starts relatively dry and firm but slowly builds up to wet until you hit a ~ 1 inch deep lake. Death Valley had a pretty substantial storm hit it in mid-October, dumping 2 inches of water in an hour. Death Valley typically has 2 inches of water in a year.
