A few St. Albert sunsets that I think turned out nice as seen through 105mm:

normally i think of power lines as distractions, but you used them as leading lines in these two shots very nicely done! the red light right in the middle seals it!

Shooting some more general nature/landscape with the 105. Loving this lens more and more even for just wandering around! The idea of shooting landscapes with it seemed illogical at first, but it can be good!

After walking through some paths towards Lois Hole Centennial Park in St. Albert, Alberta - this scene caught my eye:

One of the scenes from the paths that stood out to me:

I always wanted to get one of those shots with the trees arching over framing the composition up top. This one looked nice with the snow on the trees, and I felt like the trees sorta had that arching going on and leading your eye down the image, but the cars and trucks/suburbia kinda tarnished it a bit... haha:

Sonoran Desert African Sulcata Tortoise, southeastern Arizona. She is by far the largest I have encountered at almost 17 inches long, 12 inches wide, and 10 inches tall. My guess is that she weighs ~40-50 lbs.

Edit: Further investigation reveals that this is not a Sonoran desert tortoise but a sulcata tortoise (explains the size) that was either dumped or escaped captivity. Now I have to see if I can find her again as she will not survive the winter in the wild.

Mike, with all the water & nature shots you seem to do, have you considered a polarizing filter to see if you get any interesting results?

The short answer: Yes, I have a polarizing filter and yes I've had some success. But I'm too lazy to use it.

Somewhere on this forum I posted a with/without example at a waterfall - the difference was dramatic(ish).

The problem I have is commitment - it takes work to put the polarizer on. It takes work to spin it in the right direction. It doesn't always look good. You have to remember to take it off or you end up with two dozen shots semi-wrecked because it's on.

As I was on my way down from Chute Lake after hiking Okanagan Mountain, the sun was setting and the overcast/gloomy weather had lent itself to create this beautiful misty/foggy thing going on:

Shot with the 105mm, it was just the perfect focal length to capture this composition in this particular case!

Finally got around to processing the shots I took while visiting my sister's family for the Seahawks vs. Arizona game.

The many faces of my nephew:

Finally, this was his reaction to learning the Seattle/Arizona game result was a tie:

Love the first, third and last ones Cerpin, awesome! Love the expressions and so nicely captured too.

I took >500 pictures in my short trip to the Okanagan region in BC, so many of them fell short colour-wise because the lighting just wasn't good, too much gloomy overcast. I was able to save some in post well enough, but some did so much better in black and white.

From a lookout by the southern entrance to okanagan mountain provincial park:

And from a drive through Naramata:

There was a brief moment where the sun FINALLY shined through the clouds, so i couldn't help but stop and try to capture it:
