Checkers and Rallies have good battered fries. Skip their burgers. Mcdonalds still has the best burgers and fries for the price. Quarter pounder with cheese, medium fries, and medium Coke for under $6. Best price/taste value of any burger joint.

no.

just.

no.

I will agree that 5 guys burgers are decently good.
I do not care for their fries.

That said, Id rather go to several different little local places which are of the scales in terms of awesomeness. When it comes to chain places, Steak and Shake or Culvers are cheaper than 5 guys and IMO tastier.

I think it would be cool to own a niche food truck, like all of those gourmet roach mobiles popping up in the west, only have it be "man food" - like scotch eggs on a stick (manly cake pop)

Next time we're in Tampa, Florida I know where I'm going:

Edit: I guess not :(

there's boxes of peanuts stacked up along the queue for the register, open and ready for grabbing. there's probably enough peanut dust in the air that it'd send some people into shock.

They should probably have warnings on signs near the driveway.

No no, they fry the burgers on a flat griddle - I meant their fries (everything they fry - regular & Cajun fries). But if you have a peanut allergy, do NOT go in there - people eat fries with their hands & then touch the tables, chairs, doorhandles, etc., so it's just an allergy attack waiting to happen!

Oh ok, that keeps them unique though, it's my uncle with the allergy but he eats at BK, Wendy's, and local burger shops all the time without issues.

They do actually.

Ha, get out. I don't remember seeing one the last time I visited. Doesn't mean it wasn't there. Maybe it's a state thing? Do you live in California, where they have those warnings all over every store?

I've seen in in CA and GA. Like I said: it's there. It's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it and I would assume that those allergic should be looking for it.

Might be a state law. These are plastered all over the locations by me:

If you're in the mood for a bad burger, might as well save some cash and just go to McDick's.

You guys told me Five Guys was awesome years ago, and it wasn't. Yes, I'm still bitter about it. :colbert:

See that's what everyone told me about IN and Out. I had the double double this past weekend in Vegas and I was not impressed. My states franchise, Lota Burger is way better.

The In and Out just off the strip? I went to that one once and it was so terrible that I'll never eat at another.

Ah yeah, ok. We probably have signs like that around our locations too. I was thinking of a road sign by the driveway entrance... lame joke.
Never seen a stand-alone Five Guys for that to even be possible.

I decide to wait on 5 Guys until the next time I went out and go there in person, I figured I would want the fries hot out of the peanut oil

For future reference, they agree with you about the fresh fries. They won't cook the fries until you show up, you have to go up to the counter and let them know you're there for your order. That's when they grab a fresh batch of fries for you.

I haven't had breakfast yet but this looks really good.

That's a Scotch egg! I haven't made those in years! I used to use up hard boiled eggs from left Easter eggs and make those for breakfast. You can wrap the egg with any minced meat, bread it, and then fry it or bake it.

Well, now that we're something like four responses into analyzing a stupid joke, allow me to agree that it's completely impossible to place a sign next to the driveway leading to any Five Guys.

Carry on.

How do you get the shell out? Or do you just eat the shell too?
