3 miles to work, 22 on the way home: http://app.strava.com/activities/125796946 Weather was decent, high 40s and fair sky. I hauled in work clothes and food for the week, then left the panniers at work.

Total: 46375

Weather looks OK for the next couple days. I'm hoping to do some night mountain-biking with a buddy on Wednesday so I can test out my new dynamo-powered off-road headlight, an Exposure Revo Mk I.

FiLeZz, I'm not sure what happened, but I count 170 miles.

46,375 + 170 = 46,545. Let me know if I'm missing something.

3 to work, 23 fast miles on the way home, and a 3-mile cooldown. The 23-miler was pretty fast, especially since I usually need a while just to get my legs warmed up:

http://app.strava.com/activities/126132844

So that's +29 miles for

Total: 46,594

I am doing well on my 40-day Strava distance challenge. 33 days left and I'm at 21% complete.

33 miles last night in some of the windiest conditions I've ever ridden in. 25-30 mph sustained, gusts to 35+. Some of those miles may have been going backwards. The good news is it was 73 degrees.

Rode indoors on Sunday night 9.8miles and rode indoors again Tuesday night for 11.1 miles and then again for 11 miles on Wed. I'll try to do at least 10 miles indoors all this week, as this weekend, my neighborhood cycling group is aiming for a "big ride" (which means >25 miles, >3000ft vertical climbing). They went last weekend without me while I was off skiing... so I need to build up indoors as best as I can before Saturday so they don't leave me crying in the distance behind them.

PS. Nice speeds, mechBgon!

Rode in my first mountain bike race today. I was totally unprepared for it. It was a 6 hour endurance race, an I only brought 3 liters of Gatorade, a bunch of fig newtons and a couple of Cliff bars. All the road events that I have ridden in the past had provided food and hydration, but there were none today, except for water. I knew I was in trouble when I got to the pit area and people had brought coolers and set up tents. The first half went well and I completed 4 laps of the course, and then I ran out of Gatorade and had to drink water. That's when the cramping started. On my last lap, I resorted to licking the crusted salt off my helmet strap to try to stop the cramps. I finished my last lap well before the 5:30 cutoff and could've gone for a seventh one, but I pulled a Roberto Duran and said no mas.

10.9 miles on the trainer Thursday night and then 30.2 miles outdoors today on the neighborhood big Saturday ride. Stava said 1,826 feet elevation gain, but one of the riders has a Garmin Edge and it our elevation gain at 2,192 feet... which is actually a pretty big difference. Distance came out the same. Would have been a great ride but some jerk in an RV literally brushed up against one of the riders and he wobbled a bit but was ok, then the same RV guy pulled up in the bike lane in front of us and slammed on the brakes causing me - who was leading at that point - to slam on the brakes and nearly collide into him. Then he drove off. And all because - on a sharp 20mph turn - we pulled out into the middle of the road (to which he honked at us) so that we could make the turn... we were doing something like 20-25mph. Kind of ruined the ride for me... I can understand him being irritated that we blocked him on the turn, but there's no justification to attempt to seriously injure someone in retaliation. Normally Colorado drivers are unbelievably considerate of cyclists... I'd never quite seen anything like this RV clown before.

I called it "Reverse Bingham" because we call it "the Bingham loop" after a hill along the way but we usually do it clockwise and we rode it counterclockwise today.

An Allez, I've got one of those  It doesn't get out as much as the commuter bikes do, but it's nice to have when I want to actually bring a gun to a gunfight :D

On that theme, on Thursday I got out of work early and battled the rush-hour traffic to go to a group ride on the other side of the city:

http://app.strava.com/activities/126727706

No surprise, it was four guys with carbon road bikes this time, and I had the mountain commuter with a trunk bag, so I was at a disadvantage, not the least of which was a 44 x 11 for a high gear. It was a great workout :) 39 miles, plus 3 miles in the morning.

On Friday I went on a night training ride with a buddy, and we did more of an endurance pace. Both of us ran out of energy towards the end. So that was +44 miles, plus 3 in the morning. http://app.strava.com/activities/126992880

On Saturday I did 7 miles just over to the bike shop and back, to do some work on my mountain commuter (new carbon fork, over a pound lighter).

So that is +42, +47, +7.

It's an Allez sport. I saved $200 on a sale, since they had to get rid of the bicycles with 2013 paint job.

Guys, we're starting to get sloppy on the math. Clearly, all the riding is making us delirious.

On 4/5, drteming got us to 46,794. pm posted next with 41 miles and we went back to 46,070 (-724?).

So, starting with the 46,794 number, I count 265 miles.

We were short-staffed today _and_ the weather is finally looking nice, so I ended up working at the bike shop from about 8AM to 7PM straight through, with a couple stale Clif Bars and coffee for a lunch.

At the end of the day, I gulped down a peanut-butter sandwich and set out on the rural commute route: http://app.strava.com/activities/128001733 No complaints here, that was very good under the circumstances.

So that is +3 in the morning, +23 after work, and another +2 cool-down, for +6,355 miles. JUST KIDDING! How about +28?
