The high today was 21F (-6C) so I opted to stay indoors despite the sunshine outside. I rode 13.6 miles on the trainer on Friday and finished about 75% of Sufferfest's "The Wretched" and then, because I didn't finish on Friday, I went and finished the whole thing for another 15.2 miles tonight. Definitely one of my favorites.

19 miles on another ride on Sunday, trying to figure out a better saddle position.
Knee hurt pretty much right off the bat, tried two other positions, no change.
Had a slow-leak flat on the final km and got to change a rear tube at one of the major intersections of town :D

Yeah, fun ride.
Got an initial appointment with a doctor tomorrow, and ordered a new set of tires and tubes. At worst, they'll increase the resell value of the bike.... :-/

19 miles again. It was quite a bit warmer today, and the knee hurt a bit less.
Doctor told me to get an MRI done. I'll wait with that until I'm fully insured again :D

Solo metric century today. Almost 3,000 feet of climbing, which is a bunch around here. Was supposed to do a mountain bike 6 hour endurance yesterday, but it rained too much this past week.

8.2 miles on the trainer on Friday night, 15.8 miles outside yesterday (no strava, didn't plan to go as far as I did), and then 23.4 miles outside today ( http://www.strava.com/activities/119258483 ). So, 47.4 miles. Finally feels like spring here - it was like 75F (22C).

I will say that all of this indoor training that I've been doing is actually not bad as a proxy for riding outdoors - but it's also just a proxy. The "personal record" on today's ride, I felt like I was going to throw up... someone actually pulled over and asked me (right as I hit the top) if I was doing ok (which is when you know you have to look like a man having a heart-attack). But still, I rode well (for me) and I felt mostly good... so I'll credit "Sufferfest" for weeks of indoor suffering to prepare me for spring riding with my cycling buddies.

I did 3 + 26 miles on Tuesday, the first "real" ride I've done for a while ("unreal" riding being the basic 7mi/day commute, with a few longer shopping trips as needed). Wednesday and Thursday, 7mi each. So that's +43.

The 26-miler showed me that my cycling fitness has slid badly on all fronts. Time to get back in action.

30 miles. Knee is plain weird. There were passages, when I didn't feel a thing, and others, when it was quite annoying. Still going to hurt for the next few days. Popped out two nice PRs, including 11 mins @ 33.3 kph while some dudes were drafting me, hoping they eventually man up and take the lead - but they met up with another pair of people, and still didn't want to keep up with me going solo, after I just put in that reasonably sized effort.

Check out this guide - made me lower my saddle and it resolved all of my knee pain =)
