I don't usually ride. I used to cycle a lot but that was almost 30 years ago. I've been running for the past 10 years or so and only ride a bike on occasion.
A year or 2 ago my brother gave me a Trek SL 1000. So, I've been cycling a little bit here and there. I just spent $120 on it. One of the little adjustment ends on a rear spoke disintegrated, possibly from salt water from Hurricane Sandy. The bike was kept high in my shed, but the water came about 3 ft high so I think it got to the bottom of the rim(s). I know it didn't get as high as the bottom of the chain. So, my buddy had his bike mechanic work on the bike for me. He respoked the rear wheel, changed the rear tube, changed the rear cassette, changed the chain, and did a maintenance on the bike overall.
In the interest of cross training, I rode 24 miles today. It probably wasn't the best idea to ride for 1:43 but, today and tomorrow are my rest days from running, so I figured I'll have time to recuperate. Tonight, I took the bike out of my trunk and put the wheels back on in order to pack it away. I decided to take a quick ride around the block. My legs were fine but, man, does my ass hurt!
