Properly specified, well made electrolytic caps should last about 10 years. I would attempt to RMA any board whose caps failed within the first half of that time period.

I had the same problem with a old ABIT KT-7 Raid mobo. The ABIT was the only mobo i have ever had that problem with. as of now i have a k8v delux and havent had the problem. i have never had a problem with a asus product.
