From what I read, I think it is unsafe. In both articals of yes and no, they agreed that the aspartame converts to formaldehyde if over 86 degrees and then to formic acid which is a poison. If such a good amount is built up in the body, then it becomes a problem. The second no article claims that symptoms dissappear if intake of this sweetner is stopped.

So, it is unsafe IMO. Products that have this substance should contain some sort of warning label.

this says average americans get only 6h57m of sleep (should be getting 8h) so that means they're losing 63 minutes a day. Average person lives 75 years and becomes an adult at the age of 18. We'll assume for those years they're averaging 8 hours a day)
(75 - 18) * 356 * 63 = 1278396/ 60 / 24 /356 = 2.49375 years of sleep in a lifetime, not counting naps. They make up all of it in the end with the eternal sleep....
