Don't forget to get your ashes today.

And if you don't have anything constructive to say about Catholicism, stay the hell out of this thread.

I was in the mall getting a pin in my watch and the watch lady was like "why does everyone have that stuff on their head?".

Someone was born in a barn.

Start with the cardboard box you call home and go from there.

Ouch, that seemed especially nasty... and how could you not expect flamers to come into this thread?

There's just something I don't like about an old man in robes rubbing ashes on my forehead. I'll worship God, but no way in hell is an old Catholic priest going to touch me.

So you never get communion either?

Um...communion has never involved a priest touching me. I'm worried about the church you attend, it seems a bit...physical.

Yeah, but it always seems to be the brunt of the haters remarks.

you are fighting a losing battle thinking unconstructive things won't be said in response to this thread. immaturity is too rampant here.

as for me, i am Catholic, and got my ashes as a reminder that from dust we came and in the end dust we will be.

Is that why Catholics get the ashes? I thought it had to do more with the fact of mourning for Jesus, or beginning a time of self-reflection for lent, like in the Bible times they would wear sackcloth and sit in ashes.

Im gettin mine. (not catholic btw)

anyway, immaturity on the subject isnt really limited to these forums, its pretty prevalent throughout a lot of our culture, and thats a very sad thing to me.

Who else is gonna go see The Passion of Christ, i wanna see it, looks good. (i hope its great!)
