It's nice being able to associated with other people like myself - those that bring in $250,000+ a year, are married to a supermodel, and have another supermodel as a mistress.

Of course ATOT has people from different stations in life (the low-born types that don't understand why you tip servants, or the ones that bang women with pointy elbows) but even these peasants are generally tolerable as long as one doesn't accidentally click the P&N or DC cesspools.

P&N, well, I'll go in there occasionally if there's some news I'm fascinated with or curious about. It's been a few months.

ATOT can be pretty sassy and knarly. It can be hard to get a straight answer if you're seeking info, but I'll hit it sometimes if I need instant diversion. I've learned a lot there too. I try not to make a habit of going there (here!) for lulz.

In general, though, these forums are far and away my favorite place on the internet. There are others (AVS Forums for specificity), but for range, this place is it. There are a lot of great people here and the overall culture works. Not a ton of trolling, people here are relatively hip. I've learned a ton here.

"Change of Culture" almost ruined this place.

But its still an ok source of tech news and advice. Once in a blue moon I am actually able to help somebody.

Sorry to unintentionally necro this thread back to life but I didn't want to repost.

I think the recent acquisition of AnandTech.com by Purch holds great promise. Hopefully the forums are left in tact (or at least improved) and feedback is listened to.
