I generally like the people, and the faces are familiar. OT in particular has a decent mix of material to read, and the pace is to my liking. It could be a touch faster, but I don't like the frenetic pace of some sites. A slower pace also makes interaction more personal, where you pay closer attention to each individual's personality.

It is habit for me as well. I've been a member here for almost 12 years and I've had some hiatuses, but I do end up posting again someday and I enjoy it.

On top of that, there is lots of good info on almost all topics.

I don't know any people here personally except a small handful I "sorta" know, but it's still a good place to spend time while in front of the computer.

I learn a lot.

You get people from all kinds of backgrounds posting here, with varying expertise in and opinions on all sorts of subjects, including technology. It's also a great place to discuss issues - whether it's light stuff (like the bazillion Peyton Manning threads) or more serious issues (Uganda and the LRA).

Plus, I read most of the articles on the main site and I like to see users review and weigh in on new CPU architectures, the latest graphics cards, case designs, etc.

I also learn a lot just by researching topics after posts on AnandTech pique my interest in a certain subject.
And while trolls are some of the most well known members here, there are many helpful and knowledgeable users. It's a great place to ask questions, though you will get a lot of joke and rude responses from time to time on ATOT... which is fine, since it is Off Topic, after all.

A good collection of people similar to me, or at least used to be similar to me.

Its sometimes hard to find chill people IRL and the people here are overall pretty chill albeit over the top dorky sometimes. I'm more of an "inbetweener" IRL, there is a term for people like me in the UK but not really here in the good ole USA.

Cool people are too stupid and smart people are too dorky, but I can relate to both although I do have a threshold for both cool and dorky people.
