I don't know

I do know everyone hates me and my guts here.

Maybe I keep coming back here just to piss you all off. :colbert:

People here are interested in the stuff I'm interested in. The stuff we're interested in tends to draw more intelligent and interesting people than a lot of other stuff people could be interested in. That makes the discussion satisfying enough that I usually don't feel the need to go looking anywhere else for entertainment or information of certain kinds.

1. Awesome knowledge base. For all the shenanigans that go on in the OT, every time I have ever had a question there has been someone here who has been willing to take the time to reach out and answer it.

2. The OT shenanigans. Even though we may not be a meme generator or internet infamous we still have a lot of fun here. It's also nice that we are given a pretty wide, pretty level-headed set of restrictions about what we can and cannot post. It's also nice that we're given a lot of chances if we goof when posting.

All these things keep me here

#1 (AND MOST IMPORTANT): The site is not on VB4

Its much nicer than vb4 -- Any VBB sites i am on that put that garbage on thier site,I LEAVE!! I prefer GOOD and vb4 IS NOT GOOD @ ALL!! (Quite ugly, slower, etc)

#2 Alot of good message bases here, lots of good people!

So the format is more important to you than the people you interact with? That just seems... wrong. The format doesn't matter if there's no people.

I post where I post most of the time because of the people. The freedom to post what I want without constantly having to review all the bylaws and constantly feeling like I'm walking on eggshells is second. I could give a fuck about the format.

Mostly I come here when nothing is going on anywhere else.

I'm here because this is the koolest klub for people with supermodel girlfriends and a six figure income.

In all honesty though, it's probably for the blunt persona this group has. There are also many hilariously witty members here.

Honesty, few things:

1. I like the general culture here. It's not super uptight with an iron fist (unlike teamliquid.net), and it's not retarded all the way. It's a place I can ask/learn about most general things- career, what song is this, movie recommendations, etc.

2. Unlike reddit or other places, the age group doesn't seem to be all teens to 20s. I'm 30 and it looks like most people are closer to my age, which is good for my prior point.

3. I'm sure there are lots of other boards with similar or even better culture. I just don't know enough. Maybe some can recommend?

I used to post a lot more often than I do now. I find myself lurking most of the time recently, but I still enjoy reading all the different opinions here. This place has taught me to be a lot more tolerable of others' opinions in the past 10 yrs I've been a member here.

Plus, this is a very good venue to get advice on many different topics. Lots of helpful members here

Habit.

Still enjoy the place.

It's changed over the years but I still enjoy it overall.

Good and mostly safe place to kill some time while at work also. Don't have to worry so much about NSFW stuff catching me by surprise and the way I have my preferences set up I don't auto load any member avatars or thread images so it's just clean text.

The most part the community is pretty nice. There are a few snobs here, which I try to overlook.
