Hey, now! Don't disparage us 60+ year olds! You have no idea how stupid we can become, although Bundy, et al, sure are putting a high bar on it.

I'm only a few years shy of that mark myself...lol! I've noticed that some people, especially men, seem to get more immature the older they get. Or maybe it's that they just don't give a shit about much by that age so they don't mind letting their freak flag fly. I had to lol at the old fart talking about pain, hurting and yet there he is, making the commitment and ready to be a militia man! What a MAN! He is ready to turn on the community he has lived in since 1978 because outsiders can't use the county fairgrounds.

Being old does not automatically make you wise, that's for sure.

I ran across this quote regarding Bundy taking down the fence at the request of a local rancher so his cattle would have access to the land.
Bundy trespassed on private land to remove a fence that the landowner did not want taken down. Good on that rancher for repairing the fence and telling the truth of the matter. Bundy and his gang are domestic terrorists, full stop. He and his people do not respect the property rights of anyone.

Anyone... federal, state or private.

ETA: It seems that the Bundy Boys and their Safety Committee wanted to use county facilities for their meeting but county officials let them know that isn't happening. The part time Fire Marshal resigned over the refusal...lol!

Maybe they can take over the county fairgrounds for their meeting.

Perfectly legal when the intent of the meeting is to incite illegal activity.

The representative for a veterans group founded by Trump's campaign has decided to pick sides in the militia takeover of the wildlife refuge. The decision? Side with the militia.

The head of veterans’ group founded by Donald Trump’s presidential campaign voiced hearty support for the armed militia currently occupying an Oregon wildfire refuge, a fight the billionaire Republican has said has gone on too long.
For some reason this doesn't surprise me one bit.

Latest word is that Ammon Bundy tried to get Sheriff Glenn Palmer of Grant County here in Oregon to come to Harney County and support him. The sheriff said that he would only do so with the permission of Sheriff Ward of Harney County. Sheriff Ward said that Palmer was welcome there only if he would "shame and humiliate them into giving up", according to Palmer. Sheriff Palmer said he is unable to do that and declined, calling the militants "patriots". Sheriff Palmer is an Oathkeeper and was the 2012 CSPOA Sheriff of the Year.

He's a real piece of shit but he's in a county full of stupid people who like shit.

Maybe the guy thinks Bundy's fanfic is real? More disturbing is that he knew that he could buy it in 55 gallon drums! I bet he throws some wild parties...lol!

Dumb-as-fuck militia mouthpiece Pete Santelli is on top of his game in calling the Judge's (Harney county) 15 year old daughter a "prostitute" and goes on to say:

It sounds like Bundy, Santelli and the rest have already made their decision on hanging the Judge and now they're just waiting for the trial to confirm their judgment. I sure hope law enforcement is ready to drill these fuckers between the eyes when they show up to arrest the town officials.

I have no doubt that Bundy is going to try to go through with it.

and that is how you continue to lose support. calling a kid a prostitute on the news?

how do people back these idiots?

Weird tangent, but have any of you ever watched that Curious George show on PBS and Netflix? I have a young daughter, and she loves it. Anyway, on this one episode, they show how the local chef is able to grow all the food for his restaurant on his little urban rooftop garden. I know it's just a kid's TV show but I about choked. If such a thing was even remotely possible..

how much land do you really think you need? I know families that grow more then enough veggies for them and give some away. on less room then most have in a backyard.

I can see it happening easily. well i guess that depends on the size of the restaurant.

It is possible to grow virtually whatever you want on rooftops and rooftops are currently almost completely unused space. I've designed and built quite a few "green roofs", and while it's a novel idea it isn't the most efficient. You need to seriously (and I do mean seriously) beef up the structure which is very expensive and the underlying roof system is at least twice as expensive. On top of that maintenance is a bitch, if you get a roof leak it's really hard to find and repair it and the roof is generally covered in water so the leak is even worse.

It's mostly a niche for people with too much money and want to throw parties on their nicely landscaped roof or have penthouses overlooking it.

It looks like the Oregon State Patrol has busted one of the militiamen driving a wildlife refuge vehicle into Burns. The story says that the state trooper charged the idiot with possession of a stolen vehicle. It will be interesting to see how the Bundy Militia responds to one of their compatriots being tossed in the slammer.

I'm expecting full metal stupid.

Anyone leaving that place should be arrested for their crimes.
No one should be allowed to enter.
Communication should be blocked.

You want to talk to the public? You can do it from jail.

There was one other vehicle and the driver went into safeway when they grabbed this idiot. Hopefully law enforcement is just making a perimeter (easy with that safeway, I used to live right up the street), and looking for a guy starting his 30 mile walk back to the refuge.

OK, this one has me laughing my ass off... they called off the Bundy meeting for Friday because they are unable to find a place to host it. The lmao part? This:

Members of the safety committee said the county has no right to deny use of the building because its leaders disagree with the group. They're considering legal action, saying the denial infringes on their rights under the First Amendment.
These fuckers are trying extralegal action to overthrow the local, state and federal government in Harney County and now they want to sue the County for infringing on their First Amendment rights?!

They. Are. Bugfuck. Crazy...LOL!

Another update (read it, it's chock full o'stupid): It seems that there is more information on the groups demands. They want all federal lands turned over to the counties the lands are in, not just Harney County. They will return the lands to the last registered owner and yet they intend for the current or historical land user to retain their rights of access even though they are assigning the land to the 'previous owner'. That ought to be something to watch unfold, that's for damned sure. Their group has also released the patriotic sounding name they have chosen for their cause: Citizens for Constitutional Freedom.

I think a better name for them would be: We are Fucking Stupid

I did note that the reporter filed the story at the appropriate time for a story this stupid: 4:20 PM!

Mexico, Great Britain, and France stand to do very well under this arrangement. Texas will also pick up a bit of the old turf.

Don't forget Spain.

Other than the natives claims, Great Britain was the last owner of record for most Oregon federal lands...lol!

A press release from the Harney County Sheriff's Office regarding the stolen vehicles and the man they arrested in possession of them:

Harney Co. Sheriff - 01/15/16 2:02 PM
An individual is in custody in connection with stolen Malheur National Wildlife Refuge vehicles.

Shortly after noon on Friday, January 15, 2016, Oregon State Police arrested Kenneth Medenbach, 62, of Crescent, Oregon, at the Safeway in Burns, Oregon. He was arrested on probable cause for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle (a class C felony in Oregon).

Law enforcement officers recovered two vehicles stolen from the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) had previously reported the vehicles stolen to the Harney County Sheriff's Office.

OSP troopers and deputies from several county Sheriff's offices responded to the scene. "The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is grateful for the quick actions from law enforcement," said USFWS spokesperson Megan Nagel. "We will continue to work with law enforcement to recover vehicles bought and paid for by the American people to care for their national wildlife refuge."
Score:

- State: 1 perp, 2 stolen vehicles recovered
- Militia: Nothing but talk...

Note: The link to the relevant Oregon law in the Sheriff's press release was added by me.

ETA: More info on the perp they arrested. Short of it is that he was on a conditional release by the feds (out of Medford, OR) and not to occupy federal lands while on release. So not only does he get nailed for unauthorized felony use of a vehicle but also for a conditional release violation...lol!

What a loser, lock his ass up for a few years.

The man was identified as Kenneth Medenbach, 62, of Crescent. He was arrested on suspicion of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison. He was to be booked into the Deschutes County Jail in Bend with bail set at $10,000, officials said.
According to federal court records, Medenbach is currently facing federal charges in Medford and was released from custody in November. A condition of his release was that he would not "occupy" any federal land. He was accused of illegally camping on federal property.

References to him and prior federal action, including him being considered a dangerous person, admittedly intimidates people and him referring to Ruby Ridge and Waco. IOW, another militia nutjob.
