I own a 360 along with almost 20 games. Total waste of money.

Single player is rubbish, and while co-op is a blast in most games there are few that only require one console.

So I went and bought a "gaming laptop" that I find well worth it. Power of the average gaming PC and more portable then a console (with a backpack) making LAN gaming easy.

I have a PS3 and I have enjoyed several games on that system. Since I'm not really a console player, I have a hard time with controls, especially in FPS or 3PS games.

I love my PC rig and have most of my games for it. Although the girl and I got a Wii last year and we play GH:world tour and the sports games on it all the time. I don't ever see myself buying an Xbox or PS3. We bring the Wii to family gatherings and everyone has a blast with it. I don't see that type of inception with the PS3 or Xbox...

Basically I sit at the PC for single person use and the Wii is great for parties.

I'd like to know which 20 games you have. I'm pretty sure it is your own fault if you hate the games you chose to buy. With a few exceptions I love the single player stories of most of my Xbox 360 games!

I got an Xbox 360 for free from the McDonalds Monopoly game (yes, I have confirmed that not all of those instant wins are fries or soda. lol). I bought a couple of games to get started and a couple months later almost all of my games are from Guitar Hero/Rockband series. The whole family love them :D

Nope.

I know what games I like, and console does not have any of these anymore. The few I do like I can buy on PC (or boycott if the PC version has DRM I do not like). Sure there are lots of ok games, but there are far too many good PC games to bother with modern console systems.

Console games are great with friends over (split screen)..but I don't find myself playing solo much at all.

I used to play console games just as much as PC ones, but now I rarely touch them. I still have most consoles that ever there were in boxes under the bed, but they don't come out now.

Consoles were used when I was at university, and lived with other guys who played games. These days I don't really have friends in the same way. . .and the GF is only a PC gamer too. The type of games I like are PC things now I guess.

This might be kind of off topic but I can't wrap my head around the fact that a large majority of 360 and PS3 gamers, console gamers in general, believe that the controller setup is better than mouse in keyboard for shooters.

It boggles my mind.

Did Halo leave THAT big of an impression?

Good question. So far, I have refused to play shooters on my Xbox simply for that very reason -- no KB and mouse. I generally just play sports games, which are better on the consoles.

I think the OP's POV is juvenile and myopic, and I'm a little surprised to see my brother agreeing after playing Skate 2 for a few hours on my xbox. 95% of my gaming is done on my PC and I don't follow console gaming/releases at all, but I still enjoy a game of skate 2, forza 3 etc from time to time. Given no PC, I would continue gaming on my xbox.

I love the flexibilty that the PC gives me. I love tweaking my game files, playing mods, messing with the settings, etc. The console doesn't allow for any of that, so consoles hold no interest for me.

I also game in a very comfortable office chair, and have a 24" widescreen monitor, so I'm not sure why the "comfort" argument is brought up by console gamers. My effective Field of View is the same in my set-up as a console gamer on a couch with a TV.

And of course, the biggest reason I love PC gaming.... Keyboard and Mouse. Nomsayin?

Oh, and one more thing, I can't stand the immaturity on Xbox Live. Sure, there are mature gamers on that system, but good luck finding any. PC gaming usually has fewer douchebags to deal with, and I'm a lot less likely to get a message that says "lol u suck at noscope f*g" in my inbox.

Mostly. I'm interested in fun group activity games like Rock Band... Maybe play Madden or something with a friend, but I don't think I'll get a console anytime soon.

I play both computer and console games, and have been for the past 30+ years.

There are advantages and disadvantages to both.

Where did you hear that? I've never heard anyone say that.

I've played tons of FPS's on consoles. Not as many as on PC's but why is everyone such a cry baby when playing a console FPS? Is it cus you guys suck and can't get used to it? It's not that hard to get used to a console FPS. They have auto aim for f-sake.

Really want a PS3 for FFXIII.

I own both a 360 and a PS3 along with a moderately equipped (by today's standard's) gaming PC.

I bought the 360 for GTA4, which was totally worth it IMO. And bought the PS3 for Demons Souls, which was also totally worth it. Other games I have enjoyed on the 360 are Forza 2 (haven't gotten 3 yet), Skate 1 and 2, and Halo 3. Picked up MGS4 for cheap on the PS3 and have recently been playing through that. I played it for about 2 and 1/2 hours last night, which only consisted of about 30 mins of actually playing the game.. Those of you who've played it know what i'm talking about.. lol

I used to prefer PC games because it seemed they typically provided a more in depth experience, but nowadays it seems like that's not the case for the most part. The PC market has been flooded with "console style" games and ports. Some are fun and some aren't, but IMO, nowadays it's more common to find dumbed down gameplay that appeals to the masses regardless of the platform. So what I do is pick the games that appeal to me regardless of the system. Demon's Souls has more depth than most PC RPG's i've played in the last few years, so it can go either way really.

It just feels clunky and awkward. I've never owned and FPS for a console, but I have played a couple dozen demos (some of them over and over), including a few multiplayer demos and it just feels strange.

I may be a cry baby, but I just can't see myself getting used to it and I don't know why.

There are a few console games I really like but none I still play. Games that I repeatedly play are on the PC.

Lately most games across all platforms have been terrible. There hasn't been anything I have been really been excited about other than Starcraft 2 and. . well I guess that is it.

I am used to it and can play FPS with a controller great but I still hate it. Too slow and clumsy. Using a mouse is infinitely more enjoyable than playing robo-mech-FPS with a controller.

Shrug, there are a few console games I'm interested in, but not to the point where I want to drop money for the console, TV, and 1 game.

I wouldn't mind playing a few sports game on them, but otherwise I have no interest. Gaming is just superior on the PC.

currently playing Disgaea 2 on ps2, while Disgaea 3 on ps3 will be next after i'm done.

i do want a 360, but maybe next year.

I like both, and they both have their advantages. If they don't make games you like on the consoles, then obviously a console is not for you. However, don't make the mistake that consoles are for kids or that the games take any less skill because of the controller. Console gamers take MW2 or Halo just as seriously now as PC gamers took CS or UT back in the day, and some of these players are really skilled.

Dying to know what these benefits are.

For me, this biggest benefit is that console gaming is much cheaper. I can buy a game, play it, then sell or trade it; plus I can buy used games. The $10 saved on a PC title doesn't remotely compensate for this. Granted, there are some games I know I will want to keep or I know will be worth playing on a PC, and I'll generally buy these for PC.

I personally like having both because it gives me more options. Same reason I have a PC and a Mac.
