Us women had an excellent run. US men had several bad exchanges, Gatlin run was only one that looked to gain ground on the opposition and anchor lost it.

Took silver in women pole vault, would have had gold but it was almost a miracle breeze that knocked the pole off. soooo close for her.

Man that Bolt can run! I swear he must be part cheetah. And he accelerates like a super charged Corvette that turned on nitrous. That stride though. SHIT!

Objection! You can clearly see the photo in this exhibit was altered. That is clearly a Nerf 1000X when my client specifically stated for the record it was a Super Soaker 150!

His Olympics career is over, and he's no longer good enough to medal in any individual events so the next World Championships are probably out too. So any suspension or fine is essentially meaningless. According to that article, his lawyer still claims it was a "robbery" lol.

Justin Gatlin was perhaps trying to stick up for his teammates after the DQ, but it's probably his fault for leaving late (hence the exchange was a step too early). Dude just sounds like a pathological liar, but I guess you have to be to take PEDs and be an elite sprinter into your mid-30s. 😀

Suspension might not be that meaningful but it should be done regardless.

However, any possible endorsement deals are pretty much all gone now.

Any suspension at this point is worth the character smack-down and having to carry that additional label with him. I suspect his adolescent d!ckheaded-ness will cost him seven figures in future sponsorship earnings, not to mention a lifetime of global scorn (undone only by single-handedly finding a cure for Zika. 😀 )

It's a beautiful thing...sickening the way he can pull away from a collection of the fastest runners in the world.

What's up with the US runners wearing huge gold chains during the events? If not the weight, the swinging of it around the neck would distract me.

Loving that final gold from the men's basketball squad. All is right in the world.

And scary to think that's without the two best players on earth.

Team USA is missing 3 of the top 5 US NBA players. And add Chris Paul and Kawhi Leonard, and that starting 5 would probably beat this squad convincingly.

I never thought this team was in any real danger of losing, but it was frustrating to watch this team be content to just shoot 3's and not play defense. Any win under 20 aside from the Spain game felt like a loss because they were capable of so much more. It almost seems like they went out of their way to not make any adjustments until the medal rounds.

I won't lie though, I thought Serbia would be a tougher challenge since I didn't know what to make of Serbia. 2-3 in group play, but then they beat Croatia (Group B's #1) and Australia by 30 in a rematch. More than likely Australia just had a bad game, and Group A was just way better, with Spain being the only good team in Group B. The weird 4 way tie breaker in Group B really screwed up the seatings.

The teams probably break down more like this:

1. USA
2. Spain
3. Australia
4. Serbia/France
6. Argentina
7. Croatia/Lithuania

It was a fun tournament to watch though. Its too bad Argentina got old, but they went down fighting.

Does anyone else think paying a fine directly to cops on the scene before theres been an arrest or arraignment is really just a fucking corrupt system?
