Tauren: I tied it in with the fact that these conditions are usually met with people of the same race. Sorry I was a little vague.

In that case I think that would classify you as a separatist not a racist. And no, I am not judging you. I personally have no problem with your views.

Well, yes technically you are right, actually my beliefs dont seem to go along with my race, they are more aligned with an asian culture. But my point was really that these actions can be construed as racism by our over sensitive culture here in the US.

I agree completely. This country, in an effort to accomodate diiferent cultures/lifestyles, has become WAY overly sensitive. I personally feel it has created more problems than actually comforted anyone.

I am not sure if I am or not. I used to be really open to anyone. Then during high school, I started working for a retail store. Alot of african american's dressed up in gangster clothes or hip hop clothes with big heavy jackets would come in and it seemed after they left, things were always missing. That caused me to start reacting to anyone in gangster clothing or hip hop clothing as thieves and I wouldn't treat them as nice as I would treat others. I really hated that part of myself but i just got so frustrated whenever we did inventory and seeing how much money we lost in merchandise. I don't treat anyone bad nor do anything to disrespect them. Just whenever I come across people with baggy clothes or big heavy jackets, I just think of those people who used to steal from our store. Also, we had a policy where our clothing had lifetime warranty. Those same people would wear the clothes that they had stolen until they got bored with them, then come in and exchange them for other clothes without even washing them. The clothes smelled like a room would smell where someone has been smoking some kind of drug. It wreaked. We would just throw the clothes away outside as quickly as we could. Anyways, I am not sure if this implies I am a racist or not and how bad it that is. I am really nice to people in general however I must admit that I think I have a little racism in me from this experience.

After retyping what I was gonna say many times I can't word it like I want. What it boils down to is people don't like ignorance, and what makes them "racist" is seeing this ignorance over and over and over and over from a certain race. Bad experience is what brings it on. Because we live in an inperfect society, things never get better. I personally feel that if someone wants to represent hiphop that's fine, but unfortunately because the majority are just disrespectful thugs, they have to earn my respect first (no not by doing something, by NOT doing something).

Living in south florida I deem myself 'white' because there isn't much of an arab community here, but I have pride in myself and my family, and if you point out some family (mom) with 8 kids on welfare, with no regard to their own children, of course you're gonna deem(sp?) yourself superior.

Bleh, such an issue I hate to discuss.

mrCide: you are going to take some heat for that, I personally agree with you, but it is so taboo to say things like that in the age of "everyone needs to have good self-esteem", yes I am superior, although it may be temporary, to someone who is relying on others for survival. I make it on my own every day, that makes me a contributor rather than a leech. Like I said, I do not want to put anyone down for ever using welfare, once in awhile everyone gets down on their luck in one way or another, and perhaps due to poor planning has no choice but to rely on it. But while you are on it, you should be as humble as ever, because we are your supporters. Just pull yourself out of that hole and make something of yourself, I know its hard as hell, but you can do it.

I'm a little racist, I guess...
I used to start off my speeches in high school with different jokes that were right on the border of being racist. It got the class's attention, which thus got me an A. My teacher still talks about the different ways I'd use to get the attention of the class before my speech...I almost feel bad for using them.

Almost ;)

I think everybody is either a racist or a liar (or both I guess). Racism to me is making any judgement about another individual based primarily on their race (I think everyone has done it).

ra·cism (rszm)
n.

1. The belief that race accounts for differences in human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others.
2. Discrimination or prejudice based on race

Were all the same, well sorta. Some people are stupider than others. ;)

Even saying "Black people are better athletes." IS a racist statement.

It sort depends on how you choose to define RACISM. Today's media has somewhat skewed today's definition from the literal definition. Today it often implies HATE.

Either way I've never thought of myself as racist. Though I definitley hold some predjudices towards certain types of people, but they aren't based on ethnicity.

I do not limit myself by hate on the basis of race.
It would take away from my well reasoned hate of individuals on the basis of politics , ambition, and culture.

Raspewtin, what you describe has nothing to do with racism..it is prejudice. The pre-judging of someone or something based on past experience or stereotype. Of course, in america today, Racism is defines as disagreeing with a minority. So all bets are off on how society has corrupted the language, but racism is very specific, like the japanese feeling they are the superior race, and aryan race ideology.
