It is hate in general that clouds the mind and precludes rational thought. I don't hate republicans. I don't hate Trump. I just think he is not suited to leading a country. I think he does not have the temperament for diplomacy, the strength character for military command, or enough altruism to put his country before his personal gain.
Absolutely agreed. If the more on the left had had the reasonableness you demonstrate, (and had backed a better candidate) there's no way Trump would have won. Instead, the left's idea of "how to win friends and influence people" by being raving, lunatic, broken record, condecending douchebags...

...well, we see what happened.

I believe you will not see what happens. I believe that any Democrat who could pass a private test like that with you in person right now would, by the time they could become a viable candidate on a ballot somewhere, and by the time you were ready to vote, would have been so maligned by conservative propaganda that you would swear up and down that a vote for that person would be a vote for the devil himself. It's easy to see that in you because you are so sure of yourself and proud of it. Just something to consider when you're not feeling competitive.

That might very well be true if the candidate was named Moonbeam.

Earth to Moonbeam...

There's a two term Democrat in office right now. No Vast Right Wing Conspiracy(R) kept him from winning... that was simply a load of horseshit your rotten candidate sold you. (It didn't even stop her husband from winning two terms.)

The Hillary victim card is bullshit... she's simply not likable like her husband was, or Obama.

The arrogant, smug, annoying left didn't do her any favors.

Bernie kept it pretty close in the pledged delegates count. He got over 13 million votes in the primaries or almost 44% of the votes. There was a significant amount of leftist support for Sanders. A lot of those people did end up voting for Hilary, not out of passion, or arrogance, or smugness, but out of necessity. You could hate Hillary but even a moron could see she was highly preferable to anything a Trump Presidency would bring.

And the Democrats, in their arrogance, forgot to include those "low edu" voters in their planning while Trump didn't?
Yes, most americans, including the GOP, didn't want to believe the sheer level of racial resentment revealed by every empirical study on the matter. The GOP ran candidate after candidate who had too much dignity to call mexicans rapists or go full birther or let the alt-right run their campaign, until Trump showed them how it's done.

So who is the smart one there?

I've noted on numerous occasion that Trump was smart to see the country for what it really was, and bold for doing what needs to be done to win. Too bad so many liberals are too cuckish to deal with these sort of people.

btw, the Dems typically pull in the "low edu" votes from the inner city voters. I bet you don't look down your pointy nose at those voters, do you, which shows what a schmuck you are.

The fact I don't look down at black people dealt a shit deck in life and you ostensibly believe anyone should is a fitting example of the above.

Obama hate was simply replaced by Hillary hate. Same lexicon, different personification.
When you wrote that did you see the deeper irony in your own words? Hate is a very familiar theme coming from the religious right and is a hallmark of big religion just as it always has been. This is the very same bunch that will experience what Matthew 7 is talking about when they stand before their maker Jesus.

You are absolutely correct! One failed to reach out in specific areas and the other went straight to the foundation upon which his new to him party is based.

The party of fear and hate soundly responded to the blatant fear and hate that Trump was very loudly/proudly tossing around by the bushels full. That Trump found a willing audience for that kind of rhetoric in the midwest was quite revealing as it was surprising. But I'm sure they'll tell you it was only about jobs, right? ;)

I placed a bet with myself that I could rekindle his interest. Now in his state of exhaustion he has told us twice how tired he is. I did so because I was honestly certain he wasn't honestly tired.

I think that were he honest he would say, "I enter threads taking a turn I don't like so I begin to bray like a donkey, becoming thereby, as braying donkeys are wont to do, the center of attention. The threads here are littered with his donkey shit. But that's just my 'honest' opinion.
Then you know more than he does about himself it seems. I often tire of discussions going nowhere as well, looks like I need to rethink my motives.

QFT. And they're completely oblivious to their cognitive dissonance...it's an amazing thing to behold.

That is a valid argument i suppose.

fear of loosing your job vs. fear of world peace, lack of.
fear of immigration vs. fear of global warming
fear of loosing your guns vs. fear of getting slaughtered at the movies

Different people different milages .. we all get it.

Fear is just another part of the process. It's a shame that most here lack the intellectual capacity and self-objectivity necessary to honestly assess their emotions.

As if the Dems don't peddle fear and hate......LMAO!!!!!!
You are actually incapable of laughing your ass off without pretty much actually disappearing all thanks to your brain defect, the one you can't admit to having, but if we were to take all the self described conservatives and liberals posting here and ran them through a brain scan those of us who actually know something would know what we would find, namely that all those others you describe as 'Dems who actually do peddle hate and fear' will have less brain matter in the part of their brains that generate the emotion of fear and more of the brain matter in the area of their brains that functions to keep fear from influencing the rationality of their thinking. It is also these differences in the quantity and type of brains, by looking at the implications of the functions involved that have led neuroscientists to demonstrate via peer reviewed science the accuracy of corollary conclusions, such as, that when presented by data, data such as I am presenting here, conservatives will address it, not head on and rationally, but will run for the hills, and they will do this more so and not in equal degree to conservatives.

Furthermore, what 'Dems' will tend to fear will be the greater, not equal, irrational insanity of conservatives. In other words what they tend to fear will be real and what conservatives will fear and fear to a greater degree, is any facts that would damage their well manicured altered reality, the egotistically driven world of delusions they tend, not equally with Dems, to live in.

So, my dear titanic laughing horse's ass, in a reality invisible to you, what you call laughter doesn't even rise to the level of a chuckle.

How would anybody be able to honestly assess their emotions when they have not the slightest idea of what it is they actually feel. Can you imagine where an honest assessment would lead? I strongly suggest a therapeutic setting and a rubber room handy before you begin and some basic knowledge of what will happen before all of that.

Of course I know that you didn't actually mean what you said. A lot of the self deception people practice is obvious and it was to that that you were directing your attention. And let me just add that it will be intellectual capacity that to the best of its ability, will obscure the way in.

My dear Zaap. I was only trying to suggest to you that you have been deeply programmed and I did so because for whatever reasons I seem to be largely immune to it. I destroyed all of the sacred ideas that were poured into my head. I lost everything I valued. I know what hopelessness is and I woke up with only that left that can't be taken, the greatest treasure there is. I can't help but think that makes me the arrogant, smug, annoying left personified, but that would be in your eyes, not mine. Know then that while your post is intended to reject what I said, in my view it actually proves it. You are clinging to assumptions you hold sacred. You believe in all manner of things and I believe in nothing but the fact that it takes believing in nothing to see reality for what it is, a world full of fools who think they know things.

So when you say 'Earth to Moonbeam' It amuses me since part of the reason I use that handle is to suggest I might be from someplace else than the one you think you are from. And I thank God for that. ;)

That is a typical response from a defective brain, when presented by scientific facts, pretend the data is intended to inflict suffering. How sad for you somebody is calling you defective. Quick, run away to your safe place and invent something inane to say. You hide your self loathing for yourself by pointing to the guy in the mirror claiming he called you bad names when the real facts are it's your own self loathing you hide from yourself that you project as that finger pointing at you.

Let me tell you about a defect I have: If you ever say anything that I find offensive I will blame only myself because I will know instantly that I feel hurt because I believe what you say, and that I believe it because I already felt that even before you said it. Now just imagine what a horrible defect that is. I am cut off from all satisfaction in seeking revenge. I can't pretend to myself you are some horrible monster that happened in my life because the life of that monster is dependent on my belief. All I can do is see that you are asleep and thus beyond conscious reproach. All I can do is hope someday you wake up. Hope you do.

The IRL consequences of monstrous behavior seems pretty significant to me, but maybe that's just because I don't believe in another infinite life beyond this one.
