Doesn't look like it.Have flip bots been banned yet?
Flip bots are completely OP.
Doesn't look like it.
I am surprised everything seems manual. None of the bots are using apparently any intelligence to them. An effective defense against the spinning blade bots would be a fast and long wedge that moves out automatically once it determines the other bot is within range. Also the flame throwers all suck. Put one on a turret and have it track the other bot so that you don't even have to aim anymore, although flame seems just a gimmick.
These are 250 lb bots, some sensors and a brain really wouldn't weigh a meaningful amount. They would add complexity and something to break but with some of the stupid designs I've seen some don't appear afraid of that.Sensors and fancy shit break quickly/cost money/eat into your weight budget.

Tombstone is a fucking beast.
Watching episode 2 now. Great show.
I feel bad for some of the shitty designs some people are using, and so predictable. The more silly nonsense your bot has hanging off it the more it sucks. The perfect design is compact with as few moving parts as possible. I also see very little way to defend against the flat single blade approach, which worked well last week and was so devastating this week I felt really bad for the guys who's bot got humiliated.
I thought the box tonight with the present was awesome. The rule regarding it was terrible. I thought they did a fantastic, savvy thing and got screwed over a bullshit rule. A net is a fantastic way to deal with that blade!
My bot would be simple. Feature a nice kinetic lawn mower blade along with a Japanese RF jammer under the hood, but use IR remote control for itself (just like the little remote helicopters available for indoor use).
BUT, it was not written in the rules for this series. Too bad for the guy who researched the rules and then was told, well we have always done it that way. Similar to the "traditional marriage" argument. There have been "no entanglement" rules in this game since the first series. They shoulda known that wasn't going to fly.
