Keep in mind that the buyer side will gradually dry up as those with the highest budgets get their cards. Then bids will get lower and lower, and fewer and fewer.

I also expect the real flood of cards to come later. Lots of miners said that they would first clean up their cards and wait to see things stabilize. I expect them to start selling off a bit later, probably around the time that the cards from the big farms become available.

Alright folks. Woke up and put a "best offer" in on a $499 3080 10g MSI 3x Ventus card of $350 and I guess the seller spooked and accepted. No indication that the card is busted, solid seller too.

Guess the next gen announce spooked some people or sellers are getting tired of sitting on inventory.

Didn't expect to get a 3080 for $350 today ($380 shipping and taxes all in).

Would be the first time since I went from an MX200 to a 4600ti that I've gone with the same chipmaket two upgrades in a row, and roughly a 3x performance increase for $380 is nothing to sneeze at.

I'll keep you guys up to date if this ends up being a dud or seller backs out.

Edit: Ok, seller updated shipping information and its on its way out.

Congrats! That's a good deal right now if it goes through.

With 4080 12GB being $899, what incentive is there to sell an RX 6800 XT or RTX 3080+ for super discount prices? There is such a big whole in the price lineup right now.

It's not just that card. What incentive is there to lower the price of the 3070, and 3060 variants or AMD equivalents?

I'd love it if no one bought any card from NVidia for a while but we all know that's not going to happen.

4080 should have started at $699. Of course they had to segment to 12gb and 16gb. Let's them price it higher than each previous generation. But who are we kidding they will be sold out because having a few people say vote with your wallet has no impact on the thousands of other people's actions.

And just exactly where can you purchase said 4080 12GB at ANY price?

Is it safe to buy graphics cards now or do the scalpers and miners still run free?

Did the new zen APU come out and was it any good?

I will probably be listing my extra 6800, locally, this weekend. I don't think I'll have any problems selling it in the low $300 range. It only took a day to sell the other one at that price, and I don't see other local sellers (yet) discounting their ex-mining cards to realistically reflect current market conditions.

Only 450W? I hope whatever card I go with has an optional 500W+ BIOS. My 3090 Ti pulls 515W.

Already have a Corsair AX1600i.

-Guess NV chickened out of their 600w monstrosity.

Or the rumors were there to soften the 450w requirement.

...or it's still out there... waiting...

They're selling the 3080, 3070, and 3060 along side the 3 40 series cards. No Ti models.

Waiting to see what AMD prices look like now. Hope for a 7800XT at $700 max. If they go high as well, I'll grab used at 30-40% of MSRP.

I'm okay with that price as long as I can get one on release day.
If I knew I could get one for sure at that price I would put up my 3080ti for sale after. I already have a 1000w PSU because my 850w seasonic was not enough for the 3080ti. Certain games would cause power spikes and reboot my PC.

Only reason I would entertain the 4090 is for my flight rig in VR since it will make use of all that Vram.

Well after seeing the prices of the new generation of cards it looks like I'm going to be watching for a 3070Ti for around $300. I feel fairly confident that I'll be able to find that before the end of the year.
There is no way I'm paying $900 for what amounts to a 4070. I don't care how much faster it is.

I'm waiting to see if there will be a $700 (max) 7800XT. If not I'll be looking at used.
