Question are video card prices headed down yet?

Getting a 3080 below MSRP is still tough but Best Buy has a 3080 Ti for $740 (and maybe even lower with a BB Credit Card).

And still in stock. I'd consider it for $399.

- Yep, I've capped this gen out at $400. If I can snag a 6900XT or 3090 for $400 or less (used) I'll consider it a win. Unfortunately, I think there is still a huge population of folks that are so hungry to upgrade off their 9xx and 10xx generation cards that we won't see new prices tumble that far down for current gen.

I have a 1060 6GB and both of my kids have 1660s that we want to upgrade. We were thinking 3070s but if 3080s get down to $300ish it would be hard to resist. Fingers crossed!

Why not a 6750 XT direct from AMD with three free games? Still a huge upgrade for a reasonable price. May get $50 off around end of Sept.

All the ones paying close to MSRP will be crying when the next gen releases and they see what they missed at the same price by a few months. If the rumors of Nvidia having wildly different 3080 models is true, it suggests to me deceptive marketing and fear of justifying high prices, which further suggests that AMD is going to be very attractive on price. Each competitor must be hearing what the other is presently discussing to their partners regarding BOM costs.

I can imagine that most of them have waited the past 2 years. Waiting a bit more is easy. No shortage incoming in my opinion.

What's bumming me out bigtime is used cards are going for ~$600 and ~$500 respectively like god damn consumers have some friggin self respect.

I do wonder if high prices in Europe/rest of the world means we have international buyers grabbing cards for non-sensical prices on American ebay because converted to their localized currency its still a good deal for them.

$400 is the fair market value of a 3080 now
anything over that is hanging on to a market that no longer exists
it's a 2 year old "$700" GPU

Even IF you get a 3080 for $300-400, wouldn't you be paying extra in electricity costs over the lifetime of the card?

6700 XT: 230W TDP (6750 XT is a bad example)
3080 12GB: 350W TDP (you would save 30W going with 10GB)

The truth is, the Ti model should have cost $700 to begin with, not $1300. The market needs at least 10 series pricing back before I start to care about buying anything new. Don't care how fast they are either. Not worth it anymore.

Ouch. My brother just bought that Gigabyte 3080 10GB for that same price from Best Buy 5 days ago, but he was kind of forced to buy since his bought used from a miner 1080 Ti died on him.

Yeah I have no desire to upgrade my 1660 Super unless I start seeing 3060 Ti new at $300 or 6600 XT new at $240. And I mean actual prices, not after some rebate that takes two months in the best case and you never know if you're actually going to ever get it.

6700 XT minimum. Anything else isn't very future proof due to low VRAM. 1440p will suffer on 8GB cards with high res textures in console ports especially.

I have a 450W psu (Bitfenix Formula 450 Gold) and the 6700XT has some really high transients
