What do you think of an RTX A4000 16GB for 380.00 used. Found a seller with a few like new at that price. Looks like it might be good for video editing.

*hands shaking* guys I think I have a problem, just bid $125 on a 6600xt I don't even really need. Let's see if the seller goes for it.

My logic: $250 for brand new XFX 6650xt - 50% for being used, OEM, and single fan.

Shipping is free.

Would make a nice little ITX sized card for the family PC with the 980ti. We've been using that PC *A LOT* and while the 980ti is generally working ok it's a 250w card crammed into a tiny microatx case so lots of power and heat that I can potentially curb.

Also been noticing some texture glitches in games like portal, so the card's RAM might be overheating or on its way out.

That's about right if you look at sold items. A little high, but nothing crazy. The used card market sucks these days. A lot of people bought at scalper prices and have trouble with the fact that the market has changed.

-I want to reach through my screen and shout at the people buying this crap at outrageous prices. He managed to sell the card shortly after I declined his offer. I'm sitting here wondering why someone would buy these things for these prices.

Used should be 50% off new, but people seem to be fine with 30% for some reason. Price should half every time it's resold.

That can be what you want, but 2nd hand prices are in reality determined by demand and supply. With stagnating price/performance improvements, fewer people are upgrading so supply is more limited, so 2nd hand demand is relatively high compared to 2nd hand supply, causing fairly high prices.

That's a fantasy. Used will sell for whatever the market will bear. It's a discount from new, but seldom 50% off.

Often pricing is delusionally high. I checked the "local" used GPU market on Kijiji. There was nothing I would consider a reasonable deal. Several people were trying to sell used 5700 XTs for $500 CAD. RX 6650 slightly outperforms it, and have been continuously available for months at $400 CAD New or less. I wonder if anyone actually finds suckers for their used cards at those prices.

-I think there is some timing that goes into it, and there is a certain amount of "absolute" or realworld savings to consider.

Right before the 4090 release I snagged my 6800xt for $400 since folks were doing the usual panic selling while new cards were still going for $700. Although it's not 50% off new, a $300 savings going used is really tangible.

The major issue right now is the new gen cards kinda suck, so older cards are retaining a disproportionate amount of value. If a 7600 performed like a 6700 at $250 or a 4060ti performed like a 3080ti for $400 there would be a huge downward pressure on older used cards but that's just not the case.

You're not wrong about pricing still being delusionally high, and I place the blame on the buyers more than the sellers in this case. Do none of them know how little more one of these cards would cost new with a warranty and the whole shebang?

There are still people with fat wallets who buy up all the good deals so they can flip them for a profit. As long as there are buyers there will be sellers

Prime GPU deals not so good in Canada. Looking through the Prime GPU Page now.

They have a GTX 1080 for only $365 CAD, or an RTX 3050 for only $407 CAD.

The only RX 67x0 is a 6750 XT for $535 CAD. I don't see any mention of free Starfield.

Kind of thinking of the 3060 Ti they have for $462 CAD. Been watching a while and that's the best Amazon.ca price I have seen on these...

I don't know if that's all of them, but Meh...

XFX 7900 XT down to $704.99 on sale with an instant coupon. Amazon and Newegg. Oops, Amazon upped the price to $739. Still on sale at Newegg but back ordered.

I am noticing something strange with the RTX 4090 at least from stores other than Amazon they seem be all going out of stock. :(

Wonder if another high demand event is going to happen.

I hope not.

For reference that card was $830 a few weeks back. Now +$50.
And the Red Devil 7900 XTX was $880 at that time. Now +$20.
I think the Spectral version at $950 is actually at its lowest price I've seen.
So go the prime day "sales".
