The problem with that is she wants to show that she's a successful realtor and I don't think a VW would resonate that kind of image. When I think of VW, I think of their beatles and mini-buses.

Why not get a Cadillac STS, BMW 745i, Mercedes-Benz S430 or a Lexus L430? Nicer cars with plenty of space that aren't cumbersome pieces of junk. Or like I said earlier, a Lexus RX330. It is probably the best looking SUV out there.

Apparently she has the idea for a wrap-around advertisement on the vehicle so a SUV would suit that purpose much better than a car. Also, those cars you mentioned are about 60-70k more expensive than the Escalade because we live in Canada.

A wrap-around advertisement sounds corny

Anyways, I still stand by the RX330. It looks better, it isn't massive, but still has an impressive stature. It is also cheaper than an Escalade in the States.

You're right, it is cheaper. I've noted it down. Thanks.

I own 2 M classes, a 2000 ML320 and a 2004 ML500. I haven't had very many problems with either at all. Great cars, I enjoy driving either of them.

And both look like minivans with chintzy interiors (especially the '00 and earlier models)

if you put ads on the side, i dont think anyone will see the vehicle as "not distinct."
at the same time, slapping advertising space on a car doesnt really say "successful."
i guess if you are advertising your own stuff...but if you are a realtor...that seems goofy.

Nothing says "I've made it!" better than a Porsche Cayenne Turbo(in the world of SUVs anyway). Although cargo space isn't that massive, the 450 horsepower should more then make up for it :D

or if you can'r swing that much, get the "S" with 340 horsepower....

The Escalade is the ugliest SUV next to the Cayenne. I don't know how they get away with those prices... oh wait... the name. At an Escalade's price, I'd get an X5 instead, in a heartbeat.

I put Yukon Denalis (especially white ones) in the same class as Escalades. The trim around the bottom is ugly. What about a Land Rover, are they in the same price range? They just scream "yuppy."

The image of an Escalade isnt even prestige and luxury anymore, when I see one, the visual image comes to my mind is a gold toothed rapper bumping loud music vigrously nodding their heads up and down.

If she is a realtor, then by all means dont get the Escalade, cuz it is already tarnished by the ghetto rapper image. You are not gonna sell a lotta houses driving a commonly perceived ghettomobile.

I like the Escalade, its a very good vehicle. Personally though I'd look at a Lincoln Navigator over the Escalade though. Maybe even a Denali, those are nice as well. Probably Denali or Navigator if it were me.

My 2000 tahoe is awesome. I wouldn't trade it for an escalade if I had the chance. In my mind there is a huge difference between people who drive tahoe's and yukon's and people who drive escalades.

I would look at a Lexus or Mercedes SUV perhaps if it is a successful, professional image she is going after. The Escalade is too showy, to much glitz and bling bling, and to me that does not look professional. Hell, go for the gold and get an H2. That seems to be the up and coming gawdy status symbol.

The Escalade has a bad image for a lot of people because of the people they see driving them. I think it would be safe to say that half of the Escalade owners in my town are wannabe thugs who see it as the ultimate bling mobile. Yeah I guess I'm stereotyping Escalade owners, but people do that and if she is trying to play off an image then she needs to think about stereotypes. Good or bad, I think she would be better off getting a different SUV that doesn't carry so much weight on it's image already.

Oh yeah, isn't this the time where someone says something about the interiors?
