that whole thing about hands free is such BS... headset or phone, talking on your cell significantly raises your risk of an accident regardless.

So true. I can drive more or less as well with one hand as I can with two (obviously two adds precision and confidence) during regular driving. However, talking to a passenger still makes me miss things. I rolled my eyes when a friend proudly said she talked on the phone all the time while driving with a headset.

bluetools, out of style, etc etc. Why do some of you guys care what others do? Worry about yourselves. For the record, I've never owned a BT headset.

the headsets only really bother me when people use them in public around others. you have to speak loudish compared to a regular phone conversation, which can be pretty inconsiderate of others.

I agree that they look silly just sitting there, but I got a great deal on a Jawbone 3 and it is awesome. I love using it in the car and around my apt cause it is much less of a hassle than holding the phone or using wired earbuds - especially if I am cooking dinner. The noise cancellation tech is great too.

That being said, I do feel weird wearing it in a store or anywhere like that, so I usually stick to using it in the car or at home....

Yeah, the whole "in public" thing really should be reworded to "selfish me-me-me time no matter where I am."

They are annoying as hell to see people wearing them around and so forth. But they are useful tools in the car, especially if you live in a city where it's illegal to be on your phone in the car.

Certainly not on mine, I don't need to speak any louder.

just don't carry on important conversation. It's fine for things like grocery items and eta, which is really all I use the phone for anyway.

I wear my stereo bluetooth headset (Sony Ericsson HB-DS980) at the gym all the time, and sometimes stop by the commissary or gas station on the way home. People are always intrigued and ask me what it is. And I've had this thing for like 2 years.

My favorite is people who hold a phone in speaker mode 2 feet in front of their face while they drive, yelling at their phone. Yeah, that's handsfree, dumbass.

not really

I feel like a jackass just being on the phone at all in the grocery store. Like, I'm too dumb to go grocery shopping alone.

It's the only way I can talk on the phone while driving in California.

Everything.

Just put the damned thing in your pocket, this isnt 1995 where showing off you have a cell makes you "cool".

You all need help. Stop thinking that people are trying to be fashionable by wearing communication devices.
