mini, 3g and 4g all have the same connector. Just need some sort of spring loaded adjustable base.
Size... you are right that thing is tight as it is. Almost looks modular though. Could imagine an ipod dock that "matches"
Cost. For a connector and an indent? Ok +30 dollars to tie this into the #1 selling apple product, seems like it would be worth it.
4. Aye they do make money off the docks. Probably why they keep on changing thime. But $35 (or whatever) for a dock should be nothing compared to total apple return on one "switcher".
Course now that they have the mini-mac out there it always leaves room for an "i-pod" eddition...

Anyways, I was also looking at that iPod shuffle. Its kind of ugly. But you have to read this!!! Its hilarious!!!!

First announced NanoITX computer is the same size/bigger than the Mini Mac

And talk about vaporware, that was from a march 04 article and now it looks like the nanode will not ship until "Q2 05".

Why can't PC case makers catch up and design something of HALF this quality (in ANY size) instead of cranking out these plastic "war helmets"?? I was half excited looking at the Antec Sonata for my new rig, thinking I'd at least found something innocuous (and possibly even vaguely elegant), but when I saw it in the store it looked like a giant lump of black Tonka Truck. Sigh...
Man and I just ordered a biostar 200N for my current rig to move to. I have always wanted to play with a Mac just to learn how they work in case I ever need that knowledge. Looks cool to me. Will have to keep an eye on it.

Blow it out of the water in what? Games? Neither of them are suitable for it. Remember, the 9200 is worse in performance compared to the 9000 and 9100 series. It's pretty much moot at this point especially with the target audience in mind.
Right now, I am thinking of selling my eMac just to buy one of the high end Mac Mini's. I think that is what I am going to do.

MacMall will probably within a couple of weeks be offering to double your memory for free (after mail in rebate of course) if you buy one from them instead of the Apple store.
This new machine is pretty spiffy. I always wanted to dip my toes in the Mac side of life, but could never justify spending $1000+ to get a decent machine. Pair this up with a Dell 2005FPW that has been cut down to below $600 thanks to some furious coupon stacking and you'd have a nice set up. The nice thing about them using the Radeon 9200 for the graphics is that it has a bit nicer DVI output quality than the FX 5200. The kind of apps that you really want to have Core support on (like Motion and Final Cut) are a bit much for the included G4 anyway, so a 9200 really isn't that bad of a choice with this machine when you think about what it is intended for. What gamer is going to want a Mac anyway?

Go over to the Apple support forums in the PowerBook section and do a search for bad ram. You will find a number of people that have received free after rebate RAM from MacMall/Creative Computers that caused all sorts of problems. The RAM they offer for this deal was garbage.
While the form factor is very nice the performance is going to be pretty lack luster. Only 1 RAM slot, 2.5 HD, no DVD burner and iDVD which comes with it does not support 3rd party drives. I just found out a DVD burner is a BTO option for $100. It is a 4x drive.
I guess for light duty computing needs this is about as good as we will ever get from Apple. It will be interesting to see how well it sells.

The MochaPC has been around a while, but it's pricey. $450 for a barebones. Mac Mini is cheap compared to a SFF PC.
