Apollo printer/scanner bundle, make $15

Did this deal twice already - duinr the summer and again in September - received all rebates.

Staples is pretty quick - about 6 weeks. Received the second Apollo check today - mailed form on Sept 11 :Q

Couldn't resist - went for a third round yesterday (scanner makes a great gift, and Apollo always seems to find an auction bidder).
 
Is this deal still alive? I tried the APOLLO web to download the coupon, but it does not work on my PC? I don't know why?

Can I get both rebates back? I got the bundle now, but am wondering I should cut the box and mail out the rebates?

Could some one please help?
 
i wouldn't rip anything off yet because you may want to return it. See the posts above this one. Someone is saying Apollo won't honor this rebate after Sept. 30.
 
I did this the last round back in September. The Staples rebate came relatively quickly, but problem is the check was cut on 10/11, is void 60 days after issue date, and I just got back this Monday 12/17 to the place where I had the check sent to! Argh.... What do I do?! Is there anything I can do? I'd hate to lose $50 bucks cause I snoozed! 🙁 On another note, I just called Apollo tonight and they verified my check was sent out on 11/30 even though I have yet to receive it...

Call Parago and tell them that you never received the check. They should cancel it and send a new one.

The rebate form says the EARLIEST purchase date is December 15th, so I don't see how its invalid after September ;-)
 
apollo says on their website that the $40 rebate is now for "other retailers" which would exclude staples in this case (even though it doesnt say anything on the actual rebate form about staples). This is too much of a risk when it comes to rebates for me.

Even though i cancelled the order 2 days ago, the stuff came by ups today. Im going to return it---i can just bring it back to my local staples, right?
 
Is it me or is the tape that sealed the scanner always broken? The tape was cut the first time I did this even though the scanner was still shrink-wrapped. I thought it was just the luck of the draw. However, the tape on the scanner is cut the same way again when I received the package. Even the tape on the printer looks broken. How do they pass this stuff as new?!

Dammmmmmned Apollo change their rebate site yesterday!!! They pull off staples from their $40 rebate. I don't need 2nd scanner and 3rd printer unless it is free. I will return to local store too!
 
You can return it to the store or call them to pick up. I prefer to return at local store, so I am sure the process is done correctly right away.

I think that I will return mine as well. It's too much risk and too long of wait. I got too many injet printers at home anyway. For those who don't have any, even $30+ is not a bad deal for both of scanner and the printer.
 
yes i was wondering about the scanners popped tape also. I think as long as the one with the white stripes on it is sealed still that mens that it was not opened, as that is the tape that hp uses. as for the rebates i am going to chance it, worst case i will not get the 40.00 rebate and the deal will cost me 30.00 which case i am sure i can sell the combo for more than 30.00. so this is a no lose type thing!
 
I received my Rebate check from apollo I mailed the last time around on this.. I sent it in on 9/14.... Got the $40.00
 
Anymore people comment on this? Well, I will just give it a try, if the $40 doesn't come, well, $25 for a printer and a scanner is still a good deal. If I send out the $40 rebate, that won't affect the $50 rebate from $taples, right?
 
Heh.... I went to staples last night to pick up the $15.00 256Mb Ram Deal... I thought about picking up another one of these deals so I printed out all the stuff and had it with me..

I was there 15 minutes before closing and there was one floor guy and one cashier there... He was taking forever to get the ram from the back room.....(Mostly because this old couple had involved him in a fight they were having about a fax machine..(pretty funny to watch...)) While I was waiting a woman asked me if I knew anything about scanners, she was looking to get one for here son for christmas.

She had the flyer and was looking at the HP 2200 with a $16 gift card deal.. I walked her over to where the Apollo Printer and Scanner Bundles were and said "You can get this Printer and Scanner together for $25 and maybe even make $15 on it" She just looked puzzled.....

I then gave her the $25 off $100 coupon code the $50 Rebate Form and the $40 Apollo rebate form (the good one before it got pulled)... Explained about sending a photo copy of the Printer UPC label to staples yadda yadda yadda... She still looked puzzled... I said " The Apollo rebate may or may not go through and it will take about 3 months.."

She finally said something... " I have been wanting to get a printer for my Mom...." I said .. Then there you go.. this is the deal for you..." I then said... You need Paper clips... That really got a puzzled look from her... So we walked over to get Paper clips..

By then the guy brought my RAM over and we both went to the register... She was still puzzled and couldn't quite grasp that she was getting such a good deal on the setup... I let her check out first, after it rang up the deal finally sank in with her. All she said was "Wow!" and as she was leaving she said "Thank You So Much... I really appreciate this ! merry Christmas"

I said "Don't Thank me Thank anandtech"... Again she looked puzzled......

The cashier said " Anandtech!! I knew it !!"

Anyway That's my Spread a little anandtech Christmas lovin and cheer story...... I kind of feel like Santa's little Helper 🙂
 
This may seem like a silly question, but I'm inexperienced in this type of stuff. This is an online order so there won't be a traditional sales reciept. What do I print out to send to staples and HP as my reciept with the rebate?

When you order online, the package arrives with a packing slip. it shows your order # and order date.. and order price.. Make copies, then send one to Staples, one to Apollo. Also send the original UPC to Apollo and a copy to Staples. I've done lots of staples rebates and no problems so far. Just be smart and keep records. Good luck
 
My package is sitting in my hallway, arrived yesterday.

This is interesting: the larger outer box has TWO original UPC codes, one on each side. This is presumably to make it easier on the cashier units at the B&M.

I guess it would be unscrupulous to try to figure a way to give Staples what they want TWICE, huh? But, then, it looks like we are going to get hosed on the Apollo rebate, so it would be a wash.

Oh, well.
