I'm guessing it wasn't super accurate but there's not very many historical movies that are, especially Hollywood ones. I enjoyed it nonetheless.

I very much enjoyed it ... though it was gory it wasn't gory in a cheesy horror way. The gore was necessary to the brutality of the story. Very much in the sense of the necessity of gore in Braveheart and the Patriot. Sure Gibson is a looney but he makes damn good films, is one hell of a story teller, and makes every thing seem so realistic. The intensity of Apocalypto was insane and you felt there... I very much enjoyed it.

I liked the movie as well. I don't really care if it's historically innacurate as long as they're not trying to portray it as actual history, which they didn't. I was just responding to someone who was wowed by the films historical accuracy.

I didn't care for it at all. I know it was more than this, but it felt really tedious with an hour long chase scene.

I got very tired of it.

I liked the movie as well. I don't really care if it's historically innacurate as long as they're not trying to portray it as actual history, which they didn't. I was just responding to someone who was wowed by the films historical accuracy.

Airplane! is a masterpiece! I'm not even sure how many times I've watched it, but I ROFL everytime.

Yeah... "Apocalypto" would have been fine, but it was "MEL GIBSON'S Apocalypto."
And then the ads had Mel sitting there talking about the movie. That didn't make me want to see it at all.
It had nothing to do with his alleged bigotry, more the pompousness that because it's "MEL GIBSON'S Apocalypto" I should see it or would be more inclined to see it.

Anyway I liked it, didn't see it until the DVD though.

It wasn't historically accurate, but I don't think it really was supposed to be either.

Decent movie, I didn't think it was that gory. There are a thousand or more movies out there that are more gory.

I was thinking the same thing about the actors. I kept on wondering where they got them. It was like they went in a time machine and plucked them into the movie. I mean even the little kids were great.
