well, the majority of people in this country are certainly not conservative by any demographic measure, so sweeping change tends to be the majority movement. However, I agree that this isn't always the best option in every issue. Conservatives, historically, pretty much agreed with every single liberal platform (see: Nixon and before)--the only difference was the rate of progress--as you said.

Thing is, that idea hasn't existed in the GOP for more than 4 decades now. It's weird to claim things that have simply been observably untrue for so long. An actual conservative party would be welcome, to give a balance, measured rate of progress (the actual Atticus Finch, for example), but this party hasn't been anywhere in this country since the early and prior Nixon years. They simply have not. Instead, the extreme anti-conservative evangelicals that have raped the GOP for the last many decades (thanks, Reagan!), have sought to reset the clock on the fundamental idea of democracy--they unequivocally desire a return to bronze-aged Theocracy and Imperial Dictatorship. Make no mistake: it's been the plain message ever since Reagan, Gingrich, and Ailes. You're a fool to argue otherwise. Trump is all of that, and it is plainly obvious to any literate human.

AOC is one of the many enemas that this country absolutely needs, in this time at this hour. SO it goes. Only blame yourselves, GOP...I mean, right? Aren't you guys still trying to blame democrats for electing Trump? lol, that's still really cute and really fucking stupid.

Greeny likes some of the things Trump has done. Only he's too much of coward to say what those things are....

AOC has made a lot of noise, but I haven't seen any budgets yet.
She isn’t in office yet
Do we expect her to do an about face when she's sworn in? She's been pretty clear about her agenda.

Nice non sequitur there.
  1. No budgets yet.
  2. Not in office yet.
  3. But her agenda!
*cough
And what agenda would that be, the no budget agenda? Or is it the crime of wanting to actually help people? Yes, that has to be her offense.

Are really trying to say that she had no platform she was running on? She hasn't clearly stated what her goals are?
FYI, it's perfectly reasonable to ask if a budget has been roughed out. Somewhere there is a spreadsheet with a few numbers in it that would give us a rough idea of how she thinks this is all going to work. I'd like to see that.
It's easy to announce you're going to do xyz at a cost of 20 billion, it's chump change. When your ideas are getting up into the trillion dollar range it takes a bit more than that. If she's never looked at a rough estimate of her plans then they're nothing but empty bullshit designed to get her votes. I asked the same questions when Bernie ran on a free everything platform.
Here's the crazy part, I'm not against her ideas. Healthcare needs to be universal, everyone should be able to make a living, collage tuition shouldn't be a millstone around your neck for 30 years. It all needs to be done better.

That appears to be the case.
Personally, I'd like to see us cut military spending by 50% and use that money elsewhere. We'd still spend more than any other country on guns and bombs.

I was going to bust your balls and say Mexico is going to pay but you appear to be a real conservative. Not the usual sock puppet faux conservative these boards attract.

Absolutely. Christians ought to be thankful that they were given a gift and purpose, in this case, our planet. Old and New Testaments universally recognize the concept of stewardship but not so many who call themselves Christians embrace Christ's meaning and intent. They've constructed a golden representation, not a calf but some doppelganger and engage in acts of idolatry, worshipping an antichrist.

Well you see, there's a trick to that where conservatives can have their cake and eat it too. As with the evangelicals, as with the fundamentalists, they can vote for an evil, self-interested, conniving fork tongued two faced charlatan to do their bidding yet keep that morally bankrupt irreligious worshiper of the Prince of the Demons at arms length and claim it's all well and good because in the end Trump is doing "their Lord's work" under the all encompassing and nebulously vague banner of MAGA after all is said and done you see.

Never mind that while Trump is doing "their Lord's work" he's also grievously hurting millions of working class and poor God fearing Christians and non-Christians from myopically pursuing his sexual perversions, his narcissism and his insatiable avarice.

For the cake eaters, it's a small price to pay for them to have things their way. They're saving the souls of America and those souls have no choice in the matter.

Another Gem.

Basically Trump Jr said something negative about AOC, then tweeted a meme that said remember socialism leads to eating dogs.

Here response that arrived promptly

So you are in favor of getting rid of the First Amendment? I guess the Bill of Rights is next? Who needs silly protections from governmental powers?

How did you come to the conclusion of I want to get rid of the first?

Do a test for me, walk up to your boss and say his policies remind you of a dying pig and socialists eat dying pigs. Also tell him you think he is stupid and poorly educated.
Its your First Amendment right!

Do it now and come back with an update.

"You verbally criticize my favorite retards of the day--the Trump family, currently--therefore you want to get rid of the first amendment!"

No basis to make that statement. Jr says what he wants and AOC bitchslaps him. He has protections from "governmental powers" because if you don't know it AOC can't subpoena anyone because she's not in office and if she was she wouldn't be the Chair. Now if Jr wants to pick a fight with the House then he's welcome to, and she's right. Only an idiot would intentionally bait in such a stupid way, but this is Jr we're talking about here.

Another "useful idiot" progresshevik that doesn't understand the purpose of the Constitution. I guess the idea of don't talk about an elected official or they will use the power of the government to harass or potentially inflict permanent legal consequences to you is ok. At least Ted Lieu understands the Constitution.

AOC fires back at Kelly Anne for calling her a no nothing.

Kellyanne Conway has been engaged in a War on Facts since Inauguration Day. Leveraging those who belittle my capacity is exactly how I defeated a multi-generation, multi-million $ political machine. GOP is even weaker bc their bias has no self-control.

While in someways it saddens me to see Twitter continue to entrench itself in the world of political discourse, if it is going to be used, it's nice to at least see it used intelligently.
