1) Yes. You can't possibly compete with ANY mainstream tech. company as a one man operation.
2) Having a plan and doing the work for the plan are two seperate concepts. See item 1 for why we would expect you to have a plan but not have done the work.
3) I call shens. If this is true, then you are either a moron, or your concept of putting money into a project is opening a bank account and putting money in there.
Here's what we see. A blind man trying to get people to join his journey. If you don't have an idea now, then it's not worth anyone's time to just form a group to sit around and think about one. If I do come up with some awesome idea that could tackle google, I would hoard it until I have the means to make fat cash off of it. If it's my idea, I'm not going to share the wealth just because you want me to be part of a group of people that didn't contribute squat to it.
Get a plan or get lost.
1. Don't forget to tell Craigslist that they can't compete.
2. Doesn't make sense.
3. ok
If you hoard your incredible idea too long someone will come along and beat you to the punch...the group I am trying to assemble is that 'someone.'
1) They can't. Craigslist is far from a highly lucrative operation. The money they make can probably pay their server bills and pay their monthly car payment, but if you think craigslist is a competitor in ANYTHING, you're more of an idiot than this entire thread can confirm. Have you noticed that craigslist only gets money when someone wants to put up a job listing or when someone buys their swag? Yeah, not the big bucks... and for the record, if they WERE making big money, maybe they should hire someone to make the site look like more than a piece of crap from 1997.
2) It makes perfect sense. It just doesn't make sense to you because you have no concept of business. How old are you, 18... 19? Can you even walk into a bar? You'd fit in great if this were 1999 and the dotcom boom was happening, but unfortunately for you, people got smart since then.
3) Okay, so you spent 30,000 on domain names that may or may not fit into the plan's image? I think this does enough in saying that you don't have a CLUE what you are trying to get in to.
Craigslist is worth tens of millions. Ebay doesn't buy junk companies.
