Why not the US Government?

OOh, let's set up a new national government right here, right now. What's the worst that could happen?

Partners' develop a plan.

If I pushed my plan on anyone that would make them employees.
Translation: "I have no plan"

If I had a plan why would I be looking for partners?

I would have posted, "I have a plan, make money and do nothing because I have already done the work".

I have already put over $30k into the project....all without a plan.

So, basically you are willing to back anyone who might sorta have an innovative idea to beat Google? You just expect someone to answer this, do all the work, and help you make money?

Sounds great, when do I start?

Uh huh. :p

You've pissed away $30k on some project you have no Business Plan for and now you're looking for a business partner to do the work for you?

I hope you're not expecting people to take you seriously. Because no businessman will take you seriously without a Business and Marketing Plan.

1) Yes. You can't possibly compete with ANY mainstream tech. company as a one man operation.

2) Having a plan and doing the work for the plan are two seperate concepts. See item 1 for why we would expect you to have a plan but not have done the work.

3) I call shens. If this is true, then you are either a moron, or your concept of putting money into a project is opening a bank account and putting money in there.

Here's what we see. A blind man trying to get people to join his journey. If you don't have an idea now, then it's not worth anyone's time to just form a group to sit around and think about one. If I do come up with some awesome idea that could tackle google, I would hoard it until I have the means to make fat cash off of it. If it's my idea, I'm not going to share the wealth just because you want me to be part of a group of people that didn't contribute squat to it.

Get a plan or get lost.

And this is suppose to inspire confidence?

It's not suppose to inspire anything...either a person is already motivated/inspired or they're not.

Going into this without a plan, yet, allows everyone to have equal input.

I actually do have a plan but it would be unfair of me to impose it upon anyone. Like I said, if I used an existing plan I wouldn't need a team--I would just hire a few people for data input.

I will post details...I'm just waiting for something to finish up.

Actually I KNOW that there is enough talent on this site, the task is to assemble them.

Maybe the talented folks are too busy or want to stay on their own--that's what I'm trying to ascertain.

I don't mean to insinuate that this a salaried position. True entrepreneurs know work usually comes before cashflow.

Actually, I'm looking for partners too. I'm working on a search engine called Oggle. You can type in a specific body part and it will show you porn related around that part.

Everyone has their own perspective as to what may be important for an online business--especially one that would compete with another existing business. To me, having the proper domain name(s) is relatively critical. I spent money on one and two word domains with less than 6 letters. I think I can get most of that money back if I needed to resell them because the group/team didn't feel they were the best domains for the project.

1. Don't forget to tell Craigslist that they can't compete.

2. Doesn't make sense.

3. ok

If you hoard your incredible idea too long someone will come along and beat you to the punch...the group I am trying to assemble is that 'someone.'
