The game gets more impressive the more I play it. I have to take back what I said about the audio. Now that I have experienced more of it I think it works very well. You can really hear mobs moving around and approaching you, and it's definitely something you have to pay attention to.
I am really digging the combat mechanics. It's a refreshing change from fixed targeting systems. The mobs themselves aren't brilliant in terms of their tactical actions, but at least they know you're there and come after you, alone or in waves, rather than waiting to be pulled. From what I have seen so far I am expecting dungeons to be pretty tough. In the sewers under Amurran I could barely keep up with looting much less skinning everything. It's not your father's "find a spawn and camp it" MMO, at least so far.
Crafting seems pretty cool. I mean, I don't really know what the hell can be tried that hasn't been, and at least you don't have to mash keys.
I'm liking the prowess/skill system. Another refreshing change as compared to level-based systems. Seems like there is an asston of flexibility.
I'm not digging the overall world ambience as much. The capital city seems dead. Very few NPCs, you can't go in most buildings. Hopefully they will flesh this out at some point. And I'll repeat an earlier question: are there no quests? Feats are ok. They go ding and I have no idea what specifically just happened beyond that I got some feat, and that's ok. But I think I find more traditional questing a lot more satisfying.
