I upgraded from two 6600GTs to my 8800GT. I won't be upgrading for awhile.

Besides, with the majority of PC games being console ports you'll have to wait for the next console generation before most games push graphics beyond what a 8800GT can handle.

Im upgrading the cooling on my dual SLI 8800Gt's. Waiting until a bigger gain. Dual 8800s beats single GTX 280s, so I dont really see the point, not at the current price points.

I want to upgrade to a GTX280 on Monday when prices become official.
My 8800GT does pretty well except it is slowing down when I want to use lots of AA -- I insist!

That's the problem I have. The GT is fine with older games and AA and AF. But on newer games if I use AA and AF my fps take a nose dive

Keeping my 8800GT as well, since it's still more than enough.

Crysis is a sucky and short game. Play on mid settings if you have to, and get over it.

hey, does your card play crysis ?

@ 720p... on medium... that's with a 7950 or an x1800xt... with an x2@2.6ghz... haven't tried with a faster proc, but i don't think things will change much...

a 3870 or 8800gts640 (both oc'd) and 2.5ghz e2xxx or am2 x2 6000 @ 3.2ghz or 3ghz e4xxx will play 1680 on high with postprocessing set to med...

i'm moving a 4850 to the top of my heap and moving the previous king, an 8800gt, down the pipe... i keep 6 rigs running at the house for my kids and their friends... the 1800 and 7950 just can't hang anymore... my little monsters are pretty spoiled when it comes to pc's... i get to see who's in favor by who gets assigned to the pokey boxes...

Sticking with mine too - I paid full price (with free Crysis), and probably should have sat on my x1900xt for a while longer. Crysis wasn't really very good (especially the second half), and the 8800gt, while a great card, didn't change my gaming experience in any game I regularly play, and dropped in price pretty quickly after I bought it. I'm going to wait until I can get double the performance before I jump gain (r700, perhaps?). Another problem - my 500w Seasonic is starting to seem a little weak given the power requirements of the high-end cards (and the Crossfire options, of course).

I'm glad there are fine choices to upgrade right now, but for those of us who jumped on the 8800GT bandwagon, it's still a damn good card. Especially considering most of us got some really good deals on it.

Going to be sticking with mine a bit until a game comes along that I fall in love with and want to experience it to the fullest potential.

Sticking with my 2900XT (Pro) for now. it's about as fast as an HS3870 (faster in older titles) and still plays everyting I play quite well. The HD4850 or 9800GTX look pretty good, though.

I'm going to buy another 8800gt and go SLI, just waiting for the price to maybe come down even further, though I've seen them at $130-$150. Only running at 1680x1050 so it's more for futureproofing than required for right now, except on crysis which i've already beat and don't care for the multiplayer.

Keeping my 8800gt because I'd probably need a faster cpu to make full use of faster cards, and I'm not rebuilding my rig just yet.

Trying to be patient, holding onto my 8800gt for now. Might reconsider the n200 series after they go through a die shrink and cool down a bit...

Still, nice $ to performance options out there with the ATI products and the older 8800 and 9800 series in SLI...

i have no problems playing my 24" at 16x10 instead of at 19x12

Sold my 8800GT for an HD 4850 which I then sold for an HD 4870 I found for a killer deal. The 8800GT worked pretty well in most games I play at 1680x1050 but some of the titles just tanked. My favorite games right now are Crysis and Stalker so I felt a new video card was justified.

I have 8800GT's in sli and I just have to buy two Acceleros to be happy. I was thinking of selling em for about $300 and pop another hundred for 9800gtx sli but from the look of it 9800gtx's are going to depreciate just like when 9800gtx and the 8800gts (g92) came out and sunk the 8800gt's prices, so I'll wait.

I don't buy a new videocard just because one is available, when my current one runs everything I need it to just fine. That's stupid... and there are plenty of stupid people out there.
My 8800GT will last me a long time.
