There won't be a dub for a while. And dubs suck
Generally true, with a few notable exceptions like Ghost in the Shell, Cowboy Bebop, Black Lagoon, Space Dandy, etc.
The worst dubs have the indecency of dubbing over insert songs with craptacular english lyrics :confused_old:

not always but generally, yeah. tried watching hellsing ultimate again yest and thought why not try the dub for a change. mistake, mistake! having vegeta voice that guy in FMA brotherhood and whoever voices envy might make me watch the dub of that. the energy in their voices is greater than the original I think. note - i've only checked out a few scenes on youtube but the mustang vs envy dub sounded better IMO.

If you are new to Anime then that is understandable, you have to get used to it. If you are dyslexic, however... then that's a different story.
I have seen both sub and dub in the UK cinema. I went to see dub version with my friends and sub on my own (YES I went to the cinema solo u have a problem with that?) I can 100% confirm the sub is 1000% better but the DUB is *decent* also the dub version they changed the OST in some scenes so that sucks if you like the music in your name.

Sukoi! Saekano just cranked it up.

I thought they spent a bit too long going back to show what happened with Eriri and Utaha. Although, that fanservice shot of Utaha in bed might have almost made up for it.

An acquaintance of mine highly recommended the movie Your Name. I've started watching it but the subtitles are killing me.

Are you watching the lackluster leaked copy? The movie doesn't release on Blu-ray until next month if I remember correctly.

Huh, somehow missed this parody of Death Note!
(There's a "Kiss Note" in this)
Renai Boukun

Yeah, I still haven't watched past the first episode yet. I guess... after watching it, I couldn't really figure out if I'd like where the show went. It seems like the first episode pretty much just showed the entire show's cards. Although, after reading some posts above, I'm reminded that Dagashi Kashi kind of does the same thing too, but it was still fun to watch. I guess it will depend on how it feels from an episodic approach.

Worth waiting for the BD, just like the live for Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso.
I had the option to watch both on the plane a couple of months back on a trip to Tokyo, but resisted temptation :p

Well then, you should like the Finale Event for Shigatsu :)
Live readings by the seiyuus, actual music from the series performed, and the OP-EDs performed by the artists (7!!, wacci, Coalamode, Goose House)

Anyone following Clockwork Planet?
Looks interesting enough from the PV, but then again, almost everything does ;)

Last but not least, hope the Irregular at Magic High School movie airs nearby! :)

I've seen the first six episodes, and it's... passable, I guess? The concept behind the show is kind of interesting with the whole gear-based world, but the problem is that it falls into the same issue as most other series with the excessive fan service. Also, the characters are kinda boring at times and usually quite predictable. The main character also becomes a bit one-note/irritating with his incessant love of clocks and anything based off them. I'll probably end up finishing it since I'm halfway through, but I guess you can check it out if you're bored.

Hm, I didn't even know that they were making a Mahouka movie, but I guess it's not too surprising. I guess we'll get to see what other crazy stuff Tatsuya does, but if it takes place after the series, it won't be as interesting since everyone in his class knows who he is.

Definitely looking forward to Tatsuya's shenanigans (among my favorite OP protagonists) :)
Too bad regarding Clockwork Planet - seems like a common fate for LN adaptations.

thanks to this thread I now have binged parasyte the maxim yesterday, am doing the same with tokyo ghoul today and then have claymore/ death note/ Berserk/ attack on titan/ bleach (maybe) / soul eater / A Certain Magical Index/ Bungo Stray Dogs / Mob Psycho 100
to watch.

oh and fullmetal alchemist brotherhood as well as the 2008 fist of the north star series.

Ghost in the shell, the '95 anime. also check out Akira the anime from '88. A lot of people think it's what laid the foundation of modern anime. I'm assuming you've already seen death note.

Tried to watch Assassination Classroom. Got through the pilot ok. I thought it was a bit over the top but meh, not crazy bad. But I couldn't get through the first episode. I don't know if it's called fan service or what, but all of the asides to the audience and all of the self-referencing comments finally got on my nerves. Especially because it seemed that they were there mainly to distract from how stupid the premise was.

I enjoyed the show. Yes, it is silly. So what?

I admit that I might not have given it enough of a chance and I'll try to go back when I'm in a different frame of mind and try again.

The thing that really bothered me was first of all the smiley face. OK, I get the idea of having a silly monster but can't you do better than a smiley face? I liked the cephalopod angle. I thought that was original. And I didn't really have a problem with his being virtually omnipotent. That sort of added to the whole mystery of the premise. I didn't even mind that they pulled the idea of having him teach a middle school class out their butts. Or the fact that he wasn't actually an alien but was from earth. Just the whole presentation with the silly comments and the silly persona . . . I guess I just wasn't in the mood for it. But I'll try again.

All those things will be revealed/explained further along.
