I was looking for some good anime to watch, so I perused AniDB a bit. I mostly just organized it all by highest rating, which is a mixed bag, but I ended up finding one that I missed somehow. I binge watched all of Usagi Drop in two days -- most of it being yesterday -- and it was quite good. One thing that stood out was how they used watercolor for all the scenes that took place prior to the opening, and then transitioned to a normal line art style.

The story is about a guy's grandfather dies, and the guy goes to visit his home. When visiting, he finds out that his grandfather had a child out of wedlock. (The grandmother is barely mentioned, but she was already dead.) He meets the six-year-old girl (Rin), sort of befriends her, and when everyone argues about what to do with her... he decides to take her home to live with him. So, it's pretty much a story of a 30-year-old salaryman adapting to life with a kid. So, it has some similarities with Amaama to Inazuma from last year.

I'm sure @Cappuccino would find the daughter super cute. :p

I'll await your post after finishing that.
I have seen UD and it's on my TOP 5 anime of all top. I love UD soooo much but beware DO NOT READ the Manga after. :confused_old:

Some say people get diagnosed with depression when finishing after story and some say people have committed seppuku too. Now I am scared LOL
jokes. I think I got spoiled but I don't think it really matters. Also, how do you post spoiler tags again? It's not working for me :(

Oh, don't worry... I saw what happens when I looked at the Wikipedia page. :p It's definitely one of those "Oh, Japan...!" moments.

Also, how do you post spoiler tags again?

It's just the spoiler tag (i.e. surrounded by brackets: [ spoiler ]). You can also hit the '+' button (in between video and the drafts button), and select spoiler.

ikr the Japanese are at it again lol. The manga doesn't exist in my eyes. The Manga was good until the you know what arc :D
You ain't seen nothing until you've watched After Story.

Another World - Tomoyo Hen and Another World - Tomoyo Hen are great watches as well.
Just finished ep 1 and 2 both ep feel like filler episodes. Baseball match really??? -_-

Finished Future Diary. I have to say that I have no idea what happened. The stuff with the timelines was just too convoluted. I probably could have figured it out but f*** that. This isn't supposed to be work.

Almost finished with Suisei no Gargantia. This is quite good, so far. The theme is familiar but I really like how they developed it. There was also some slice-of-life aspects to it which was fine eventhough I don't generally like that sort of thing. But they did such a good job of incorporating it into the story, you barely noticed.

(OBVIOUSLY don't click link if you have not seen Mirai Nikki, actually, anyone can click it just dont move your eyeballs to the right)
I find the ending really sad I cried :(

I see mech tag in SnG and I am 50/50 whether to watch it or not. Is it like Eureka seven? If yes then I pass, god that Anime was sooo boring and repetitive.

Koe no Katachi - 9/10 Story about bullying and the aftermath. Made me tear up.

https://myanimelist.net/anime/28851/Koe_no_Katachi

I thought it was okay. I mean... the animation and such was pretty darn good, but I thought the story was kind of awkward. I don't know if it's a Japanese thing, but the way the characters acted toward each other seemed odd. Oh, and...

We don't know how high it was, but he likely would've died from that fall. The surface tension of water is no joke, and if he didn't die, he probably would've broken his back rather badly.

It's okay, but after you watch all the sequel series, it will just seem like more... and more... and more of the same since it almost all takes place in the restaurant with the same recycled jokes.

Thank you for the chart but honestly, that just confuses me more.

I don't know if SnG is similar to Eureka Seven, haven't seen it. I didn't think it was boring or repetitive though. Actually the story develops over several subplots. Several meaning 4 or 5. Because of that, some of the transitions feel a little off but nothing egregious.

Their interactions are very Japanese for sure. As to your spoiler, it was more figurative than physics.

I've been mostly watching a few series that I had dropped years ago like To Aru Majutsu no Index. Oddly enough, I actually liked To Aru Kagaku no Railgun better... even with the excessive yuri overtones. (Why is that a thing in all these side anime like Sword Oratoria?)

Can't wait for the SAO : Ordinal Scale BD :)

Kind of surprised to see that it turned out favorable after all the disdain over the majority of SAO and SAO 2.

The only thing about Railgun is that I liked the episodes when Touma was in it more than the other ones. I just liked their interactions given it's the hard-headed do-gooder guy vs. the tsundere girl.

well, Touma is the main character after all.
